Keyless start? Anyone got it working?

Has anyone made a video of using the digital key? Any volunteers from anyone successfully got it working!?

Question - does the phone to which the DK is shared have to have already been paired with the car?
No prior bluetooth pairing required.

As soon as the recipient comes in range of the car, the app connects to the car automatically. The status on the Digital Key page (see previous screenshots) changes from "Disconnected" to "Connected".

Shared the Bluetooth key today. Was able to unlock and drive the car with the shared key.
This is great. A really useful feature. Glad to hear it worked and with relative ease too. Excellent

He hadn't - he merely said about Bluetooth range, not pairing. But he has now confirmed. ;)

I keep a curve card (Can be linked to any credit/debit card) hidden in the car,

Can be turned on from the app only when you need it, so no danger if stolen.

Covers you for those times you need a card due to failure of contactless or the purchase is over the contactless limit. Curve is free only takes money out of your accounts when you spend (Not preloaded)..
Absolutely love my curve card and I'm even invested in the company because I used it so much. Honestly it might seem small but just for the reduced hassle when the bank changes my card randomly it is worth it. Also just easy to have it switch between banks for different payments. Anyway off topic lol

I've used the start stop on a digital key on my phone in the SE, but is there anyone else who finds this to be a truly pointless feature beyond showing off? If I am leaving home I have my front door keys with me anyway so I may as well take the car fob? And it does not save any time as the car switches on as soon as you hop in anyway. Would be curious if anyone has found a day-to-day use case for it?

People who only want one device for most functionality....heating, lights, bluetooth key, smart door lock, contactless payment etc....I am not one of them....yet

I regard it at this moment as an emergency key nothing more.

I don’t know why cars don’t do fingerprint or facial recognition, since it is old hat on the phones. But it would be one more thing to go wrong.

Ive tried everything.... I do have an original Trophy and not got any software updates so that could be why.
Did you ever manage to get this to work on your Trophy?

Not working on mine either so thinking of raising with my dealer. Just wondering if anyone with a Trophy who reported it not working has now managed to get it to work or had it fixed by a dealer?

No never managed to get it working... the button on my passengers handle has stopped locking and unlocking now also. I think in a month or so when they've managed to make the software updates stable I'll take it in and no doubt have to leave it to get various things fixed. Although I have zero faith in their service department.

The. Bluetooth key works very well on my Trophy. It opens the door AND I can drive away.

Note that if you unlock with the Bluetooth key you cannot lock the car by pressing the button on the door handle - you need to use the Bluetooth key. So beware if you open the car for someone eg a mechanic - they won’t be able to lock it when they finish.

The Ora does facial recognition. It will be interesting to see how well it works - if they sell any!

I can't get mine to work... I can unlock my trophy with the app easily enough.
I can see and can press the keyless start button, and I get a response saying success or something similar but, the car won't then turn on and it just complains that the key isn't present.

Yeh, mines the same. Had my trophy a couple of weeks.

I believe that feature was disabled by MG at the same time as the getting locked in problem started.

Have you tried placing your phone in the case in the middle console? There's a key symbol there.

No, only the sharing of keys was disabled. My digital key still works fine.

My Bluetooth key would open my Trophy and allow me to drive the car without a key. However, I foolishly cleared the cache on my iSmart app and the Bluetooth key has completely disappeared.
