Hi I thought I would post this as a warning to all, during the cold spell my rear washer stopped working and looking on the forum people were complaining that the pipe had come adrift from the nozzle, I was using Halfords -10c washer fluid as was in my wife’s Peugeot 3008 (which was fine). I could see fluid around the tailgate so contacted MG Drive Leicester to book it in as I wasn’t confident in removing the tailgate panel as described in the forum.
After two hours of waiting I was told that it wasn’t covered under warranty as it was my fault and was presented with a bill for £120.00! It’s a company car so it wasn’t so much about the money but the principle as it is a part that I cannot access easily and is clearly not fit for purpose!
And to add insult to injury when I questioned what fluid I should use I was told “a better one” and when I asked why the 3008 was unaffected was told “because Peugeot’s are a better car”!!!
I’ve sent a letter of complaint to MG services (not holding my breath) and wished I had asked for the faulty pipe which they claimed to have replaced.
I can’t wait for the customer satisfaction text.
Cheers
Paul

Common problem - this has been reported on other threads. The pipe pulls off of the joints too easily and just needs slipping back on.

Washer Jets Freezing

FWIW the difference with your Wife's Peugeot may just be that you had some lower concentration fluid left in the pipe.

I’m not surprised to hear this about Drive Leicester. I think you’ll find some comments on the MG Dealers thread. Spirit MG (Corby) and Donalds MG (Peterborough) are within striking distance and both have good reviews.
