MG ZS EV Crack/click noise

Yeah look up Ceratec too while you're at it 😉
I said in my other post it's all Cera Tec just different branding I have been using it for years now on all my brake jobs there is probably 10 or 20 tubes of it right now in my workshop

Yup my point is "their" videos are promoting "their" products.... 🤷🏻‍♂️ Caveat emptor

All I am saying is copper slip has got his place and nowadays it's nowhere near brakes it ruins rubber and can effect sensors modern cheaper lube is available and does a better job

I wants apologise to everyone else this thread is totally off topic now

On the contrary it's perfectly on topic.

You have stated your opinion & I am not convinced.

That is all 👍🏻

Does any of you have this same issue on the breaking pads ?
I had this, the sound comes from the pads moving about in the caliper. nothing sinister, my dealer (I actually know the mechanic personally who worked on my car so could have an honest and frank conversation with him) solved the problem with copper grease, no doubt it will come back, but for now it has gone and is no longer annoying me. My brakes also squeal more than a piggy being chased by a wolf, but again this is down to the fact that EV brakes don't get used as much so they wear differently, I have had the calipers stripped and cleaned, the pads keyed and the problem goes away for a couple of days then starts again, it's just one of those things I have learned to live with.

Interesting... Apart from squealing in reverse "first movement of the day" for a few months, my mk1 has been fine for squeal. Pad clunking I've not noticed but I'd kind of expect it to do it at some level & hear it over the silence 🤷🏻‍♂️

Should have clarified really, my squealing mainly happens in reverse... but I have noticed it has started to squeal when moving forward, although nowhere near as bad as it is in reverse (I swear I'll break glass one day).

My Gen 1 ZS just make a rubbing noise when I reverse off the drive which I would never have described as a "Squeel" perhaps others would. I've just assumed that it's the pads lightly rubbing off any surface oxidization that had formed on the disc surface overnight and nothing that has ever concerned me.

Yeah mine's always done that as a norm - accumulated corrosion on discs being ground off by pads I presume 👍🏻

The squeal was different & a proper squeal !

Mine only did it in reverse for a few months then it stopped doing it

Mine still does it now, very irritating but literally nothing the garage can do about it 🤷‍♂️😁
