MG ZS EV OTA Updates

This brought a smile to the dial. My father in law asked the same thing.
I think my parents would also be confused if it said my car has OTA.

In Denmark this is a brand of oatmeal :)

OTA

This interview is a bit misleading, as most modern cars have more code than a 787. Ford GT from 2015 had 10m lines of mission critical code vs a Dreamliners roughly paltry 6.

the reason for less code in a plane is the more code, the more chance for an error, and when there is an error, planes filled with people fall out of the sky. Much like those two from a few years back, can’t recall the type, but there were two in a short span which resulted in the worldwide grounding.

no comment, except to say the following….

That's a lot

The price right now, here for this car is $52.600

Is this a screenshot from before they lowered the price ?

Haha, can picture my father in law saying ‘why would you want to put oatmeal on your car?’

The screenshot was from a moment before I posted it - we had a price cut about a month ago. I think they are trying to regain margins here before cutting further. The cost in the UK is ridiculous, from what I understand.

We also get $3k back from the government for buying an EV.

Yeah i know some countries have incentive programs.

A LOT of EV's in Denmark comes from Germany.

We dont pay registration tax on EV's, but we get no incentives and we still have to pay 25% VAT.

There is no registration tax on used imported EV's either, the definition of a used EV is "More than 6 months old, and have done more than 4000 miles"

This is big business, as Germany paid, i think something like €5000 if you bought a new EV.

So professional sellers buys "used" cars in Germany and sell them here, making a profit.

Was looking at a used Model Y, but the dealers were really reluctant to sell them for 2 reasons.

1. They were taking huge losses, as these were bought from Germany, pre January 13.

2. Because of the loss if they sell now, they keep the cars, hoping it is like the last time Tesla did this, where they raised the prices when their inventory was empty.

One seller was willing to sell me a 10 months old Model Y, that had done 8000 miles, but he wanted just £1000 less than what a brand new one cost on the Tesla website, and his did not have a trailer hitch which i want, and a new one comes with, as standard here.

So basically after i bought a £1000 trailer hitch plus installation i would be paying full price for a used car.

But in general car dealers have been silly, and still are here.

I was looking at a Suzuki Baleno to replace our 10+ year old "second car" and the local Suzuki dealer has one that is 4½ years old and has done 18000 miles.

Asking price 85% of the price it cost from new.

I wonder why he has been unable to sell that car :)
