Did a longish road trip from Glasgow to Cambridge and during the journey the radio was on BBC Radio Leeds and has apparently locked and wint let me change or search for a different station - is there an easy fix? Ive tried playing with the menus and setting but nothing seem# to work. Doing the return journey in a few days and really want to sort this.

When you get the time take it to your dealer as there is a firmware update that has improved this trait. I say improves as it hasn't cured it completely.
Still 'every little' as the saying goes!

You will find that every-so-often when entering the car, sometimes after a charge the radio is set to OFF!
This is such a basic thing that SAIC seemingly can't or are too lazy, to correct!
It came about because of a chip change during the shortage. They have had plenty of time to write a foolproof software patch,.
They initially denied any problem, but with video proof they didn't have a leg to stand on! 3 weeks and a cobbled together patch has fixed some of the issues.

My dealer, Richmond of Portsmouth, were very proactive in kicking asse at MG!

The radio still gives up after about 2 hours use!

Apple Carplay, and I presume Android Auto, flips in an out, which is frustrating when using Waze for instance.
The cable is perfect by the way. It does it on multiple iPhones and cables. It does seem to be a time linked problem, maybe heat, but I don't think so, more likely data hold ups that trip the Carplay out!

No dealer will take a car and drive it for 2 - 3 hours to find the fault!

Other car manufacturers plug in a datalogger in the OBD2 port and monitor the data. SAIC/MG should pull their collective fingers out and do the same!

And that should NOT be necessary!
In a car that costs 30 + odd grand you should get a radio that works consistently.
It's still a budget car on saying that 100k Tesla needs a reboot every now and then I drive a 8 million pound train that that needs it every few hours just to use the touch screen

Happened to me, stuck on talksport for a couple of months. Took it to a dealer and they sorted it under warranty

Bottom line the infotainment is a pile of junk, sluggish, buggy, constantly freezes, shame, after 14months and 22k miles I'm a happy chappy especially with the fuel savings ICE £3.3k v MG £350

Does your radio screen show the sign “Radio Module Disconnected”? If it does then be careful your 12V battery not going flat. I had the same sign coming on and within 2-3 days my 12V battery was completely flat. I called the AA who put the car on “Ready” mode with a jump lead Then recommended to drive it for 1/2 hour and to charge +balance my 70kwh battery.
He also told me that within a week he had 5 calls for 12V flat batteries on MG’s where the “Radio Module Disconnected” sign had previously come on. I have booked my MG ZS EV with my MG dealer to check and advise.

I presume you have the Gen 1? The Gen 2 infotainment is apparently much better.

Had an issue with mine all Radio stopped working ,I could play from usb and Bluetooth but no Dab,FM or Am radio all were silent.Reset the head unit 3 times didn't solve it so last resort out with the 10mm spanner and disconnected the 12v battery for 10 minutes and voila! It's all working again. So don't just rely on the reboot to fix all issues 👍

Radio packing up occasionally happens still on our 4 year old Renault Zoe. The info/entertainment systems in modern cars are too temperamental. Shutdown down the car and starting it back up generally was the only way to get it back.

We hope to take delivery of our MG in the next few weeks, expecting a few issues at the start.

Our Zoe had a lot of system updates in the first six months but then was pretty stable, hope the same for when we get the MG.

I've have my Zx back the agents 3 times for firmware updates and the radio still freezes.
The only way to get it working again is to stop turn the vehicle of for 10 mins or so. Restart and normally it will work again for a while.
The agent said that they where going to report it to technical services. Frankly that was just to fob me off.
The car is due to go in for its first service shortly so I'm hopeing that it will get sorted then.

This happened to me so going back to the workshop for a fix also heater problems hopefully they will resolve this issue. Maps also froze unusable and don't want to use my phone all the time. Will let you know how i get on.

Heater problem it's normal for it not to work in eco as that is part of the energy saving (if that's your problem)

As for frozen map do you mean sat nav when driving as the known fix for this is switching off dead reckoning

Will give it a try just the radio to sort out now.

I think the sooner manufacturers ditch their home brew systems the better.

Renault's Google implementation shows how it should be done ...
