After a test drive 2nd Dec 22, in a MG 4 SE. Finally we decided on the Trophy model with the extended range. the dealership chased us after the test drive to go in and place the order, [ they was saying if we ordered there and then they had been offered a batch of MG4 Trophies to be delivered the following week ]
As you all may guess, I wasn't taken in by this, we all forget this is the motor trade after all and they are generally masters at cooking up sales stories to pull their numbers in . After laying our deposit down and accepting the trade in price on my wife's Sports car the order was placed.
Here we are 10 weeks down the road and not a sign of a Black Trophy to be seen, this is after various stories they've concoct up, as times gone along.
It appears MG uk can't get their act together in delivering any of these models, its such bad business. I'm not surprised customers are going into dealerships and cancelling orders, MG are really going to lose face if they can't sort themselves out, and get these cars delivered .
I guess there is only one question to ask: [ As anyone else had this experience from their dealers ?? ] and also has anyone had their Trophy delivered on time and how long did they have to wait in the end.
Best Regards Fil

I ordered a black trophy in November and was told it would be February more than likely however i asked if they could keep hold until march for the new registration. I had an update the other day with no update. If its not here by march end im going for a second hand Cupra born and getting my 12k back the dealership have.

There's a good source of dealership experiences here:

Including my experience with a dealership in Newbury, which I am not finished with yet :)

I ordered a white MG4 SE Long Range on September 20th and was given an estimated delivery date of January 20th. The latest news is my car is being shipped to the UK and to expect delivery at the end of February, but I’m guessing it will probably be in March. Deliveries up to January were rather a lottery for dealers and customers and it may well have been the case that your dealer was told by MG to expect a batch of Trophy models. Made to order cars are now being fulfilled.

Many thanks for your reply…….
We are going sit tight and give them up to the end of Feb 23. Then we’ll have see what direction we go, possibly cancel and try and find another make what’s more available.
WHAT A MESS !!!!

Perhaps not what you'd like to hear but I ordered on the 23rd(ish) of December and picked my car up (Orange Trophy) on the 20th of January. I did have prior knowledge they had two orange trophies coming "end of december or january" though.

Thanks for your reply, the dealers are not telling the truth in so many cases, they wouldn’t get away with it in normal business.
It’s a poor poor effort from MG
