I have the MG5 Excite SR and have been happily charging with and Ohme for nearly 2 years.
In the last week I have had issues when trying to charge overnight. I plug in the charger as usual and the car starts charging at 12.30am as expected but will then stop charging for no apparent reason.
Tuesday night it charged for 12 minutes and then stopped after only giving 1.3kwh. I restarted the charge and it lasted 42 minutes and 4.4kwh before stopping.
Last night I monitored the charge and had the following:-
21 minutes and 2.2 kwh before stopping.
Restarted charge and lasted 26 minutes and 2.7kwh before stopping.
Have switched off at breaker to cycle the charger but makes no difference.
Have spoken to Ohme who have advised that they have checked the OCPP statuses and the car appears to be going into a faulted state called SuspendedEV. This means the car was refusing to accept a charge which they usually see happen when the battery is nearly full, or there are settings in the vehicle or a third party app restricting the charge.
The only other thing of note over the last couple of nights is that it has been sub zero over night.
I'm going to try the granny charger tonight to see if the car charges as expected. If it does then it suggests the Ohme is at fault. If it doesn't it'll be a trip to MG to see if there is a fault with the cars AC charging system. Will be a bit disappointed if a car that has been problem free for 2 years suddenly has an issue with the charging system.
Anyone have any thoughts before I pursue MG?
