New MG4 Shipment?

Cancelled my order this morning.
Dealer could not confirm APR for 01st March (out of their hands - Santander) and trade in value offered was significantly lower than market value (Our trade in value has been static from day 1 - and today online we were offered significantly more in 3 separate / different retail outlets) consequently deposit requested to be returned and order cancelled.

For anyone who is looking for a new MG4, there is now a White Trophy available at Warrington Holdcroft MG
Contact Connor (01925 231231) who was a genuinely decent guy, I am sure he will look after you.

Found the same with my PX, the px calculator on the MG website was explained to me by the dealer I was using as not relevant to them and not the price they would offer, begs the question why even have it on the website then.

Went on the Cupra, VW, Kia and Renault websites and got a PX price, they emailed the dealer I said I'd be visiting and they dealer said that was the price they would honour and in cases offered me more as my car was specced up.

Hi Leni, this was in person in the MG dealership, not using the online tool.

Essentially, if my trade in has been static (its 4 year old VW Polo & is on the "flat-ish" part of the depreciation curve) for the last 5 months, and the day we come to finalise the paperwork in person the offer significantly differs, (even though 3 online outlets and tools estimated min +£800 & + £1500 in one instance) then that was the final straw for me.
Its not like I have been waiting for 5 months or anything...lol ;)

No, all in all, given the well documented "teething issues" which I hope they sort, and the change in the value proposition I just felt I had reached a point where I was no longer happy to be an owner, so walked away.

I certainly hope that the valuation they gave for my Nissan Leaf doesn't change when my Trophy arrives. I would hate to think that the fact that I am willing to wait means I will accept any offer.

When I ordered mine in November they explained my part exchange would more than likely go down by 1k. I decided to trade it in when I paid the deposit as I have another car to use. If the new one is going to be much later than March I may have to reconsider

Just had THE call from my car dealer:-
My blue Trophy just arrived on a truck outside his window, and he'll wait until March 1st before I take it with a '23 reg.

Get in 👍😀 when did you place your order ?

I also ordered in November had a trade in offer of 19k for my 2020 corsa ev with 19.5k miles I said to salesman what happens if it takes a while for the new car to arrive as I do over a thousand miles a month he disappeared out back and come back with 18k so I agreed I'm now coming up to 23k miles and still no info on delivery date hopefully they stick to the offer

I am pretty sure that they said my part exchange quote was locked in. Only time will tell.
Fingers crossed mine too

On a whim, I drove past my dealers this lunchtime, and also saw a blue Trophy outside.
Suspecting it was mine, I parked around the corner and walked back to look.

It wasn't, but I went in to start the PCP paperwork and got my '23 reg number for the insurance.
Bonus - Because I pre-ordered last year, my dealer is honoring the 2022 price! 🤑

Surely it's to be expected that you pay last year's price!? That's definitely what I'm expecting having ordered in November.

There has been at least one dealer stated that the Apr rate would change if the agreement got beyond 3 months, so basically going to 8.9%

I was referring to January's £1k rise in the cash price.
Yes that's how I interpreted it. However, the increase shouldn't apply to orders put in before the price rise surely?

I know my dealer is honouring the pre-Jan cash price. Because I tried to switch to a Trophy from an SE at the 2022 list price and they said no chance! 😂

So had phone call from my dealer today bad news I've been told that mg are having big trouble with mg4 supplies and that if your car has not been built (mine hasnt) its going to be 8 to 12 months before delivery 😟 I have no choice but to cancel my November order ! Gutted 😞

Bl**dy hell. Mine was a November order.

I like that you get a call from your dealer though. Have to chase mine for updates and it's like the proverbial blood from a stone.
