What estate do you have?
I got the MG5 as I have/had an Octavia and fabia.
If you have solar panels then check out the Zappi EVSE.

Try asking a more specific question and you'll likely get more useful responses. This whole forum is "anything of note I need to know" and for charger threads also have a look in the General Chat forum as quite a bit of discussion goes on there.

I’ve had a 5 for 7 weeks, how does it get away with being called an estate and hoe do previous estate owners cope?
It’s got a very big lip at the boot like a hatchback, surely the definition of an estate is that’s it’s flat?
Getting large items/dogs into the 5 must be a pain compared with a normal estate.

That's one of the things that put me off: it looks like an estate but doesn't have a very estate like boot.

I have a facelift MG5,I would say it is an estate, great for the dog, and occasional tip run.
I also have had a Hypervolt charger for 2 years and never had any problems.
The MG5 is a great car on my second one : )
Sorry should have been more accurate. I have two greyhounds and will have the rear seats folded flat most of the time and in my opinion the MG4 gives a more level surface. If the MG4 hadn't come out I would have ordered the MG5 and was seriously tempted by the facelift.

We got ours at the start of the year, still getting used to it, it being our first EV. Have found a number of niggling issues but nothing is prefect. The ones that come to mind are, touch screen only works "first touch" about 60% of the time, the automatic headlight dipping is very slow to respond to the road conditions, safer to do it yourself, although if you do it is too easy to completely switch off all the lights as the toggle switch is very poorly positioned, has happened several times. The speed limit recognition system is slow to respond and is often working on an earlier section of the journey, nothing beats your own observation. If you are used to TomTom or Garmin sat navs you will probably find this version inadequate, ours loses interest during a journey and gives up, we have a back up one to overcome this. The various driving aides are more nuisance than assistance we have switched them off. The reason we got the Trophy was because it has fold away door mirrors, and all the other stuff comes with it, knowing now the problems of the upgrade we would have gone to the SE Long-range and saved money. We will be much more savvy when it comes to our next EV.
We have the Zappi 7.2Kw charger as we have solar panels, cost about £1100 with VAT supplied and installed in accordance with the regulations, that works very well.
Hope these comments help you on the adventure, it is on the whole good fun.

I believe you need an OHME charger for octopus intelligent compatability but presumably you aren't bothered about intelligent octopus if you went with the Zappi? So is it just the Trophy that has the driving aides e.g. lane assist that keep switching themselves on each journey? I think I'd miss the 360 parking, heated seats and steering wheel and electric seats etc on the Trophy but if the SE LR suffers from less issues then it might be worth considering

Lane assist is crap on all models.
I can’t think of any advantages the SE offers over the trophy in terms of issues.
The common issues are there on every model.

Thanks, i wanted folding mirrors the light upgrade and the electric seat/heated steering wheel sold it for me. Every car has its issues I guess but when my monthly fuel bill is going from £150 a month in a diesel to £10 a month in this (10p kWh equates 3p mile) it's a no brainer
