Are MG4s going to be driven by Old Farts!

My 2 kids experienced the car for the first time, yesterday... and were soon fighting over the single USB port in the back! 🤦‍♂️😂
Could you not use a USB splitter like this ?

Devices would need to share the available 5V but for a fiver it might prevent arguments?

Im 82 and last year swapped my BMW 5 series for an MG5 LR exclusive- I also rally an MGA and a 1947 TC Impressed with the MG5 very fast and smooth easily beats most petrol cars away from lights !!! very comfortable and can get all my golf gear in the boot had it 12 months and touch wood no problems

46, 2 kids (12 and 14), used to drive an MG Maestro as a race car (yes it was possible, and fun). Don't consider myself to be an old or a fart! Loving the car, quiet, comfy, quick and efficient.
No issues I hope?

Thanks and absolutely (although I think a USB-C equiv may be required?). Just made me laugh that it was their initial 'feedback' - I've yet to even charge the car for the first time, yet! 😁

I’m 31, my little girls Swivel car seat fits fine in the back and the boot gets her big pram in ( it’s one of the most roomiest hatchbacks I’ve had )

Don’t get me wrong it’s not as practical as our Golf SV ( newer version of the Golf plus ) but that thing is the ultimate people carrying normal size car thing, it has massive door bins and fold out tables !

My main gripe with the MG4 is the baffling omission to a rear interior light, it’s such a cheap easy thing to fit at the factory and annoys me every time I load my child into the car when it’s dark. I’ve had to fit a stick on puck light to the C pillar so I can see what I’m doing which is ridiculous on a modern car. Common MG, fit a decent rear light and charge is £20 extra for the car ***.
Stupid question:
What have you used to stick the light to the pillar?
I've tried a few things and it keeps coming off. I don't really want to use something permanent.

The Command range are also very good, and easy to remove with zero hassle and leave no residue

Edit - just search for ‘Command Strips’

They were my last attempt. Absolute fail :(
Surprised by that to be honest. I’ve used them for all sorts of projects. There are various types too, some more suited to certain surfaces etc

Yep, I've used them successfully for other things too. Starting to think gorilla glue might be the only option!

Just noticing from all the threads that there is no mention of fitting their kids in the car, so are owners predominantly older?
In general most EV drivers, because of cost, seem to be from my experience.

Just to start things off I'm 61 going on 14 according to my wife.
Well I was in my early 20's when I first ordered, coming up to 72 this year and still looking forward to receiving the car.

The ones I linked in Post #68 are excellent. Ensure you clean both surfaces with IPA before attaching.

Definitely an old fart, 69 going on 70, picking up my grey mg4 tomorrow, trying to save the planet!

It’s disappointing that youngsters aren’t getting into EVs.
In my experience as a dad of a 20 year old and 15 year old, the older one wants one now and the younger one doesn’t want to learn to drive anything else.
The trouble is, there are few EVs appeal to them.
An MG4 does nothing for youngsters, no appeal to them at all.
We desperately need more small EVs.

Agreed, from my perspective I’ve wanted to switch to an EV for a few years now but there’s been nothing remotely appealing on the market until the MG4 was released. Looks wise it’s well ahead of many more established EVs in my opinion.
