Morning fine people,

I’ve had a quick search of the forums and can’t see this noted elswhere (sorry if missed it).

In past month noticed that sometimes the screen won’t turn on straight away when turning on the car, then there is smell of burning. You can leave it and after about 15-20seconds the screen will turn on and smell stops. Or if turn car off and on might boot up straight away.

Anyone else had this?

This is 2 separate things quite a few vehicle report the burning smell as start up just the nature of an electric heater although I've never had it but but then I have the heating on most of the time if not all

I have had a delayed screen on startup occasionally but is just the system doing a reboot or startup normally I noticed this when I unlock the car or open the boot then car is still locked the head unit starts up so it's ready by the time I get in the car

Same here !.
The burning smell is the heater element and sometimes the head unit will decide to take the long path of a “full reboot” on odd occasions.
It will show the MG logo graphic first, then graphic of the car itself, nice !.
My guess would be that the HVAC ( heater was left ON from the previous trip, before the car was closed down.
Therefore, as soon as the car is next powered up, it kicks the heater on straight away, hence the burning smell.
If you use your HVAC a lot, then the burning smell is a lot less evident.
Occasional use is when it can be easily identified I find.

I'm learning to love the smell of burning in my car.

Afterall, it is...normal.
