Thank you for letting me join the forum, I dont currently own an e.v. I have on order a long range MG4.
According to the dealer, about five weeks until delivery, I am recently retired and live in Cornwall, looking forward to an e.v. life, I suspect a different attitude is needed with an electric car, Im sure any questions I have even sensible ones could be answered here....
My car is Blue, really Blue.... is it a colour you can live with?
If not, I,ll just go out in the dark!
Many thanks
Nick

Welcome. You’ll love the blue I’m sure. Plus, EV ownership is fun. Post some pics when you get your car. I would suggest that you use the MG4 section.

Like you Nicholas, I am new to the world of electric cars and their infrastructure. It’s an interesting and exciting time to be alive in. When the Tesla Roadster was introduced in 2006 and the Nissan Leaf in 2010, they piqued my interest, and thanks to the MG4 I have been able to take part in the revolution. It doesn’t just end with an EV for me, as I will be having solar panels and battery storage installed a few months from now, allowing me to charge the MG4 directly from solar or battery. If you’d asked me if this was possible in Scotland twenty years ago, I wouldn’t have believed it, but thanks to technology progressing in leaps and bounds and reducing in price, here I am.

I think the Blue is very fetching and along with the styling will stand out on the road. If you do a search in the forum threads for Holborn Blue, you will see photos owners have posted.

Welcome to the forum and take a look at the pinned Hints, Tips & Solutions thread at the top. Lots of great advice in there.

Welcome to the forum.
I think the blue is a great colour and it's free😁.
If you have a question put a few words into the search bar to see if there is already a thread about it.
Enjoy the relaxing drive.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement, I did look at the pics of members cars, and today I saw an MG4 in blue on the road....
My wife said 'I like that'..... So, Im gonna like it too!
Feels like the begining of a beautiful journey, I mean, what is there to go wrong?
:)

I too am retired and going electric for the first time. I’ve discovered there’s a lot to learn and I was almost put off by some of the criticisms in this forum. But the test drive was amazing and all my questions to the dealer were completely answered. I’ve also found a whole series of helpful YouTube clips about the MG4 by Burl Solomons. Just search his name in YouTube.
I was going to order a grey, like my current Civic, but at the last minute plumped for a Red Trophy. Roll on May😊

The charging is confusing at first: AC and DC, speed limited by car or charger, cable types etc. But with a bit of reading it's quickly understood. I get the impression Cornwall is not the greatest area for rapid chargers, but seems to be catching up. You'll likely be getting the car just at the right time for some nice weather and this decent efficiency.
There's a lot to be enjoyed about the car.
