My MG dealer's quote is £604 for the first 3 years service (not including first MOT at year 3) on an MG4. That's nearly £17 a month. Yes, the MG Assist get's re-upped annually (and I was paying £81 a year previously for just RAC Roadside on my old car) but how come it's so expensive - and there's no other option from this particular dealer.

Does anyone know what an annual service without contract costs in the first 3 years for EVs? (obviously going to any MG servicing centre will get the MG Assist renewed for the next year).
I've had MG4 service quote from an MG dealer of approx £80/£170/£80 for the three years. I believe, though have not yet confirmed, that this also renews the MG Assist.

That sounds so much more reasonable, Steve T.
Maybe it's geographical or something or dealers just think they can fleece people in certain areas?

I should clarify that this was the cost of buying 3 services individually rather than buying a service plan. The service plan was about £100 more but had some add ons like courtesy car and so on.
I also got another quote for a service plan which was over £600, so it's clear there are big differences even within the same region!

As ‘Europe’s oil capital’ we regularly pay what gets called the ‘Aberdeen tax’
One prime example is a Tesla I’m looking at, same age and mileage as plenty of others but £2000 dearer just because it’s here.
If the Aberdeen MG dealer is doing £80 services, I’d expect the rest of the country to follow.

I found it much cheaper to go through the MG website than directly through the dealer (you can select the same dealer).

It's VERY annoying that not every MG dealer is on there though. For example, the dealer I bought from is not listed despite being the closest to me. Maybe some dealership groups declined to be included?

Yeah, just gave me an error though when I tried it.

My dealer is on that link ... and the price I paid upfront is a little less than what the link derives (once the MOT is factored in).

I bought a 3 year plan with no MOT direct from my dealer for £243, going through the website linked above it quotes £375 for the same package!
I see you are in Newport Pagnell - can you tell me what dealer you got your service deal with, sounds very good value. My dealer is Glyn Hopkin in Kempston (Bedford). Does each service include an extension to MG Assist? Thanks

It is with the Bletchley dealer but I am sure I did it through the web chat on the Glyn Hopkin website

I got quoted (and accepted) £68.77 yr 1 service, £93.09 yr 2 service and £68.77 yr 3 service with AA cover when I collected on Saturday. Dealer said it was an MG deal as opposed to their own dealership one which is in the region of £180 per year

I’d love to hear their justification of £180 per service (per year)

Free oil change (gearbox presumably), new fan belt (wearable merchandise), tune up (latest hits installed to infotainment), pads (for the older clientele suffering with leakage), discs (for the same group struggling with a bad back).... it quickly adds up! 🤣

Cleaning the DPF ( dopey pr*** filter )

Seriously though, it’s clear to see how terrified some dealers are of losing ICE servicing revenue.
Those big chrome buildings and Breitling watches don’t come free.

Great deal. Would you share which dealer?
