Unable to Tax online / phone

Received the VED reminder letter for our almost one year old ZS EV yesterday.
Popped in the renewal reference code on-line and it went straight through without any problems what so ever.
I can only think that by actually doing it at the post office counter, will somehow trigger the system into sending out a reminder letter next year ?.
I would not be surprised if you receive a new V5 in the process !.

Maybe..... the DVLA getting the Post Office (Horizon!!) To address issues in thier IT rings some alarm bells for me.

To bring this full circle. Got to a PO today. Armed with v11z v5, proof of insurance. Handed the v11 over. A scan of the barcode, 3 or 4 jabs to the touch screen terminal, receipt printed, car taxed. Not a word uttered by the PO chap.

Still as bemused by it all as before, but at least the car is taxed.

Sounds.... taxing! At least you pay road tax, not like cyclists... Oh, hang on......

I taxed my MG5 pre facelift online a couple of months ago with no problems.
