MG4 Software Update Thread

That’s annoying. I wish they would put temp on the other display. So many improvements could be made. Pushing the left hand joystick does nothing, make that the regen setting, I’m going to start a campaign!
... other than raise/lower ACC speed target (U/D) and decrease/increase ACC detection distance (L/R)? ;)

Or do you mean pressing (like a button)? If so then yes - that could be used to toggle between regen modes and/or drive modes. (Make it selectable). :)

I think you answered own question 😉

I'd say you need to balance the pack as a single cell reaching low voltage can trigger a BMS to go into a protection mode to prevent damage
I’ve done a balance anyway as it’s good practice, but had a few more replies over on Facebook and apparently there it is a bug that a software update came out last week to correct. Seems to have happened to a few people.

Seeing all the versions here I have popped a google sheet together that people can add their version too to see exactly where we are. I think the model and range is a big thing here. (although colour seem to vary too?

I can do some graphs etc to show what we have.
Link <——- you can edit the sheet here.

Added my car! Very nice work

I got my MG4 from Wakefield on 30th Jan. It had software revision 24 installed - I think we are up to 32. Is that acceptable do you think? Has a PDI been done?

By then R33 was available so really that's what you should have had.
Interesting.....I took mine into the local MG dealer's last Friday to check that the "locked-in" recall wasn't needed on my car (original dealer where I bought the car said the mod had been installed before I picked it up, but the MG Recall site said that it was needed).
Upshot was, the yes it apparently WAS needed, so the local dealer installed the mod and updated all the modules. They all now "display a green cross, which indicates they are the latest update".
I drove away and was pleasantly surprised that the LKA was now reduced to a "beep" and a hint of pressure on the steering rather than the unpleasant wrench I was getting before.
Forgot to add, the whole point of this post was to say that when I got home, I was surprised to find that my Infotainment system was still at R30. So, what does R33 bring to the party?

Probably not a lot. It certainly does not cure the Bluetooth pairing issues that some people think it does. Mine is fine for days then loses Bluetooth pairing for a couple of days. Drives me mad.

Hmm, in that case I don't think there's any point in complaining to the local dealer about the Infotainment revision level.

I've just had a call from my dealer, to get it booked back in for a recall for a software update. Unfortunately it was a voicemail so no other information other than that currently.

I drive the Trophy and its Entertainment system version is SWI68-29958-1300R30

Dont know if the telecommunication version is something thar gets updated or not.

Once i speak to the dealer and find out what software update it is i'll edit this post.

Edit: Update is v32, that's all the rep had for information.

That'll probably be for the "locked-in" update. I don't believe there is any other recall issued.
