The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

What a difference a bit or warmish weather makes. Just been out and about round town, admittedly not in a rush but achieved best figures for a while. Been in the lowish 3s over winter. Normal and eco 3 today.

Yes, I went from Yorkshire to Essex recently, 220 miles. On the way down the average temperature was 3 degrees, and I needed a 10 minute charge to get all the way. On the way back, the average temperature was around 9 agrees and I made it back with the need for charging and had 20 miles of remaining range :)

That’s really good. I’m getting between 2.1 and 2.5 per journey since I bought the car. Always on Eco with kers 3.

Hi, has your m/kWh been getting any better with the warmer weather and are they short journeys?

Them figures from Ron61 seem about right for a Mk1 MG5 month on month with sensible driving yours Nstric I’m afraid appear quite low. I did 18500 mile in my mk1 5 and over that time it was always in the mid 4 marks. My new facelift MK2 5 Trophy model is much lower at around 3.4 but still only around 3 months in as yet and hopefully as the weather improves it will get much better.

Another month... heading up to it's first year. Been an enjoyable year.

This month includes a Leeds run as well as a drop off and pick up at Gatwick for friends... Very impressed with the charger set up at Pease Pottage services... 6 new gridserves and 2 older ones... not to busy....

Nice to see the consumption decreasing again as the nicer weather is coming back in...

Picture for March.
Temperature seems to be holding up at the moment so it remains on the right side of 4 miles/kWh :)

The figure for March 2022 was 4.0 so this is very much in the same ballpark.

A bit disappointed with my performance this month but I think it is down to mostly only doing short local journeys. I live at the top of a hill and I've noticed that when I pop down to town I get figures like 7-8 for the downward journey but when I come back home the figure drops to around 2.6 so the uphill journey is a killer!

My figures for March. Lots of short journeys and some cold spells so not the best ever. Mostly on eco & Kers 2.

I k now I'll get flak but my car hasn't moved for March - came out to Portugal (by BA) 27 Feb and don't go back till 6Thursday.

At least the home gas bill is zero :)

Yeah but's what's the cost of fixing all the frozen pipe damage.....clutching at straws here.

I know, been monitoring the temperature in my house and it's been below 7 degrees on occasion. My daughter has dropped in a couple of times and not seen any problems but says the house is really cold. It's up to 10 now.
