Storage of cables

I just keep the type2 cable in its bag in the boot. As I have an SE, there’s not really any space to put it in the underfloor space of the boot. I imagine Trophy drivers can get it to fit though.

I’ve currently got it in a bag under passenger seat - doesn’t seem to be any room in boot as the batteries are there I think !!

When I get my SE LR next week I intend to make a false floor to level it of with the boot lip ,and store under it, will very rarely need the hole boot space.

I was under the impression that most Trophy owners could keep their cables under the raised boot floor 🤷‍♂️
The Trophy comes with a fitted foam kit including air pump and triangle. It fills the under floor space but it is very space inefficient.

Some people have pulled this out and stored their cables loose under the floor (there typically isn't enough height for most bags).

I have been meaning to try this on ours.

What you've described applies for all MG4 models. The Trophy also has a raised floor option. :)

Oh I know who it is. What I meant was I would have expected to see it for sale on their website by now - Home | EV Accessories Ireland

You've lost me with that I'm afraid?
If you go to the MG4 accessories board, as @siteguru says, the last post that mentions an MG4 frunk just says "Cannot load Facebook SDK" for me, because I use ad blockers and never follow facebook links.

Comment on various aspects in the thread….

The batteries are not under the boot, the motor is. The batteries are under the main floor.

Any frunk is going to be tiny. On my boxster the frunk is big enough for 5 full bags of shopping. Its around 170 litres capacity- about half of an mg4 boot. The space at the front of a 4 is shallow and mostly occupied by stuff and the need for radiator airflow. You are likely to get a very shallow small expensive way to store cables.

Ive seen pictures on here suggesting you can park the plugs of the cable at the rear of the front compartment near the wipers and coil the cable over the top of the “engine” cover. Someone has apparently done this without issues.

To me the biggest issue is no spare wheel. My sons Kia Stinger hit a pothole that blew the tyre wall - no goo kit will fix that.

So as i dont want that scenario i ordered a spare skinny and got a fitted bag - like the ones cables come in. There is space for wheel and cable in there. Im looking at removing the moulded boot trim that holds the goo and pump and putting the wheel in there with possibly my own felt covered raised floor solution.

I keep 3 cables under the raised floor in my Trophy. Type 2 , granny, and a 15m waterproof extension 3 pin . All in round cable bags. Fit no bother.

I took my foam bit out and it's always stored in there on mine qith the boot floor at the lowest position
