The dealer that sold me my MG, JB Motors, Banbury, no longer has a MG franchise. The nearest options to me are Oxford MG, Cumnor Hill, Perrys MG in Aylesbury, or Eden in Swindon. Does anyone have any experience with these companies? They are all some distance away and not easy to access by public transport. I will need my first service doing in May, so would like to benefit from feed back from anyone having used these outlets.

Had mine serviced at Waylands Cumnor and I thought them excellent. They were a long way for me (nearly 40 miles) but my local dealer wanted too much for the job, and I hadn't had a day out in Oxford for years. They are on a direct bus route into Oxford.

I think they'd have done it while I wait if I'd wanted, and they had a very pleasant showroom with waiting area.

MY dealer wouldn't do a "while you wait" service for its 1st low milage service. Probably a bit of BS but reception attributed it to it needing a software update and they "don't know how long it will take"

That is probably true as in they don't know how busy the Chinese servers are and when they will be up and down, so cannot guarantee the updates quickly. Some days they cannot be applied at all because the servers are down.

And so I have a question, Howards MG at Weston-Super-Mare has stated that they no longer supports the franchise for MG, so is this a single occurrence or is there an underlying issue with garages stopping the Franchise or is it MG terminating it. I cannot believe that this is normal, or is it, can anyone shed some light on what is happening?

What?!! They are my local dealership. :(

It seems so, I got an email today stating they were not doing the MG Franchise from 1st May, you may get an email soon :(
I have seen a few post about this topic. It seems MG is dropping small dealers and keeping larger ones. This may be the case for your dealer.

There are dealers in Bristol and Taunton (not sure if they will still be doing MG as they are Howards as well), if that is any good, whole thing is a bit of omnishambles, well done MG for foot shooting episode!
