Is it time to change to Octopus go

So your getting over 5mkw?
What is your mkw at the moment?
Looking at my usage over the four hours on the Octopus app it shows a supply of about 1.61kw per half hour. 12.8 kw over the charging window. Taking off background house usage taken from pre EV car times, I draw about 12.64kw and with my average of 4miles per kw that gives me my 50 miles a night.

What the app says and what car received are two different things ei mine will say 7kw but car will receive 6.4kw
So your not using MG 10amp granny then

And you don't always get 4mkw do you

So 50 miles on 4h granny is a bit optimistic

Ok guys, with a bit of research the 10pence per kwh is only available with certain evs, which doesn't include any of the MGs at the moment!
So unless you've got an Ohme Home Pro Charger (with Intelligent Octopus) or a Ohme Home, Ohme Home Pro or an Indra Charger with OVO Energy, you won't get the 10pence rate.
If you're on Octopus Go which limits you're charging to 0030-0430hrs per night, you'll get 12pence per kwh.
You'll need a Smart Meter which can be read, you can check this at;
https://smartmetercheck.citizensadvice.org.uk
If you're just signing up to the new tariffs, with a new energy supplier, you'll be put on a flexible tariff until the supplier can read your Smart Meter, which will delay your cheaper tariffs if you have a meter that cannot be read by the supplier.
Prices for GU35 Postcode, 19/March/2023.

@Goodc2 I understood any OHME charger worked with Intelligent Octopus, where did you see that it has to be the Pro?
Yeah Hi, Your Ohme charger has to be of the type that can connect with the Octopus Intelligent app that set up with Octopus once they can prove that they have half hourly readings off your smart meter

Tweeted from Octopus:
Supported Ohme chargers are: - Ohme Go charging cable 3-pin - Ohme Go Charging Cable Commando - Ohme Go charging cable Type 2 - Ohme Home Charger - Ohme Home Pro Charger Kind regards, Resh N

Think I will stick with OVO octopus is 10p more expensive per kilowatt and only 6h 10p charging instead of 24h

My home EV charging cost for the whole year of 2022, total £160. 1892kWh @8.5p per kWh, through Octopus. GO Faster.

BG are doing a 5 hour cheap rate at 10p so you’ll get the equivalent of a Go Faster option on a larger charge window and so it’s a bit better for those with larger batteries.

50p/day standing charge though

If you join Octopus GO/Faster today it is 12p kWh up to 5 hours-0030-0430, 41.46p outside cheap rate & 52.32p standing charge. Although my setup is cheap rate 2130-0230, not too sure that this is available today.

Intelligent is definitely worth it for me, 2330-0530hrs 10p rest of the day 39p.
Been on it for four months can't fault octopus so far.

Albeit leave it to the last week like last year, check your account and see what they are actually going to roll you over on to. Ignore the emails!
