So I owned an MG5 and now own an MG4

We need a second car, we have two kids and enjoy weekends away, camping etc. So I'm going to buy a petrol hybrid Dacia Jogger, they seem an amazing car especially for the money.

Thoughts?

Adam, is it a Hybrid / self charging hybrid or a full on plug in hybrid ??.

I was looking at working away for a stint, 5 hour drive to get there, and wanted a cheap-ish but decent-ish car to do the trip in and not worry about range/charging. Dacia certainly had some contenders that were good value for money. I'd be interested in how you get on with your new car ;)

it's a self charging hybrid. So you cant plug in and a small battery but bigger than say a prius and its the only option

Unfortunately I won't have it until September/October. Ordered it just now. Ordered the urban grey but im contemplating Cedar green, dealership kindly said thy already had a cedar green on order so if I like the colour when I can see it they will give me theirs and they will have mine as their showroom car or demo.

Test drive last week and I put the deposit to replace my 2011 ford galaxy.
Was it a good drive? Was it a hybrid?

The test drive was good as comparing with the Ford Galaxy. It is front wheel drive so you don't feel the push like MG4 when putting your footdown. The switch between battery power to/from petrol was very smooth. The battery is charged with the regen and the petrol engine. The MPG would be good. Seats are comfortable and good spaces for mid-size adults including the 2 seats at the back. I like the middle row seats are higher than the front seats. There is parking camera and front & back sensors. It is easy to park. I didn't test the infotainment system. I will use AA anyway.
The dealer has a pre-ordered car which available in June, so I put a deposit to secure the car.

All sounds good to me. And if you hear of any that are available before October please let me know. We really need a second car and I know I want this as our family one so really would like it before summer comes so we can go away for weekends as a family of 4 plus Nan. Thanks

The so called self charging hybrid’s are out selling the plug-in hybrids currently.
It’s because of the price really, plug in hybrids are almost the same price as a full BEV so it makes little sense to me buying a plug in anymore TBH.
Toyota as we know, have been allowed to market and call their models “self charging” in the U.K. only I guess the idea has now caught on with Dacia ?.

Why not use Carwow to find a new one. Get prices for in stock cars from dealers .

New cars from stock, delivery within 2 weeks, depends on spec wanted and you probably would have to travel.

Buy a new Dacia All New Jogger from stock

It doesn’t sound like a hybrid is the car for you if you have those type of journeys. Better with a good economical ICE.

I had a Dacia Sandero hire car for 6 weeks recently and it was, well, less than impressive. Not a very good spec and not a lot of oomph. Still, it was cheap enough at €204. But didn't endear me to Dacias.

Wasn't a hybrid I was looking at, and never got further than some online surfing.
