Hi, is there any option to set the Deafult KERS to 1? I am doing lot of local driving and I don't want the Brakes to be worn out Quicker due to KERS on 3 all the time. also I feel driving on KERS 1 is much fun than driving on 3.

Surely Kers 3 does not use the brakes but setting to Kers 1 means you will have to use your brakes more?
Indeed, the original logic is backwards ... I've owned a MK1 ZS EV for a couple of years now, just upgraded to the MK2 facelift.

KERS is remember wherever it is set & in my case, this has stayed permanently at 3, the maximum regen breaking. The title syas it all "regenerative breaking" meaning the disc pads are not used while slowing down, only in the final moments should we need to come to a complete stop, ie, no 'one pedal driving' but close. KERS 1 setting at the other extreme provides no regerative breaking & therefor always requires use of the break pedal. This is the quivalent of an ICE vehicle.

So to minimise the use of break pads and to obtain better battery economy, always use KERS3.

Except when it's icy. Then setting 1 is safer.

Using the brakes on all KERs settings should still activate regen so the only difference between the KERs settings is how strong the regen is when you lift off the accelerator. If you can anticipate the road conditions then the lower you set KERs then the more efficient your driving should be as although regen is better than heating up your brake pads and disks, coasting is better than regen efficiency wise. To answer the original question; unfortunately the default for KERS is 3 on the ZS and cannot be changed. It's one thing I'd certainly like to see changed. Oddly the default on the MG5 is 2, which is better, in my opinion, and I think they did it properly on the MG4 and a default can be set; plus it has an adaptive setting.

I use the default 3 setting all the time, and "feather" the throttle depending on how fast I want to slow up.

How you can "Coast" on KERS 3? isn't the Regen is so strong that almost brakes the car?
