MG4 Spotted! : Was it you?

I gave a little wave to another MG4 driver as we were passing near to where I live. My wife was horrified 😂😂😂 She’d obviously forgotten about when I used to do in in my 2nd gen Honda CRX (what a car 💙) to other CRX drivers!

I've seen precisely one, a blue SE in Edinburgh. Where are they all hiding?

PS. I think the blue is a great colour, it being free was just a bonus.

Had a twin (YK23---) at Fully Charged Harrogate last Sunday. Anyone here?

Hello to the white Trophy that drove through Dunblane this afternoon heading towards the train station. (I was on foot - ERO was parked up by the cathedral - so you'd have been blissfully unaware of a fellow MG4er being around). :)

Ok some spottings. Hello to all of you!

Twin black SE SR at the top of the multi-storey at MK centre, I was not allowed to park next to you as that would have been embarrassing apparently…

The red trophy parked at the Excape Milton Keynes.

Orange trophy on the way back from Milton Keynes.

Hello to the Black trophy parked at Daylesford Organic today in the Cotswolds.

Driving to and from Nottingham yesterday from near Chester and saw a good number of MG4s en route. On the way back, near Stoke, spotted an orange car being used as a driving instructors' car, which is great to see!

I've seen the orange driving school car in Stoke, probably the same one I'm thinking.

Does anyone know what the rules are, for someone learning to drive and passing their test on an EV? Are they allowed to drive ICE cars at all? Or is it the same as for learning on an automatic, just not allowed to drive manual gear-shift cars?

You don't have a gear lever or clutch so you would only get an automatic license.

But it would still allow you to drive an ICE automatic.

Re. the driving school car - I think that might be Sue Cropper who posts in one of the MG4 Facebook groups. :)

Makes sense. In terms of how I drive, I don't notice a huge difference with the MG4 from my DSG Golf. The big change was going from the manual Peugeot to the DSG - even now, I can switch back to a manual car no problem, but then when I'm back in the automatic I start grabbing for the gear-stick!

At least in the MG4 there's nothing there where a gear-stick would be, so that probably simplifies matters.

My biggest blunder when going from manual to auto, quite a few years back, was going for the non existent clutch pedal with my left foot and hitting the great big (wide) brake pedal as I was stopping, nearly sending everybody in the car through the windscreen. 🫢

😲

You should have seen me on my test drive of the Golf GTi DSG. I had gone intending to get a manual, having only driven an automatic a couple of times. I was bouncing along like a bloody kangaroo and the dealer was trying to give me a driving lesson!

But I was impressed enough to order one. From a different dealer who was offering a better deal, though.
