I have a brand new mg4 (April 2023) to begin with we managed to get 6kw plus on charging at home.
Today I plugged it in as it’s desperate for a charge and I can only get 3kw. I have changed nothing and I don’t understand why.
Any ideas?
Oh our Nissan leaf still charges at its regular speed off the wall charger with the same cable.
Mg assistance were no use and the garage I got it from are busy until June. At present it’s taking me 12 hours to go from 25% to 80%
All and any comments gratefully received

Not sure if this helps but if you switch the charger off, check the plug resis1.5ktance between the PP Pin and Earth, if it has a higher resistance (1.5 k Ohms) then that will restrict the charge speed to 3kw. Open cct will stop the charger but there may be a higher resistance there. Make sure the wall charger has been isolated though. Like above isolate the car/ cable first, it may be the car!!

Thanks- yes that was on my list to do just trying to find a working charging point near us and I will have a go tomorrow.
Have a look on Zap-map you may find a free one.
How is it on a rapid charger?
What network app do you have?
Watch out using PodPoint at Tesco's as they can reduce the charge rate to 3kW.

I had a similar experience. I was only getting charge rate of 3kW but was using the cable I had with my Audi A3 Hybrid. Swapping to the supplied MG4 cable and charging went to 7kW.
