Are the auto lights linked to the clock?ā€¦

Who remembers the evening papers publishing Lighting Up times every day. Maybe the car is using its data connection to connect to local newspapers as you drive up and down the country.

Oh God I remember this. That really dates me.

It is a little fiddly. You'll need to get a slim plastic trim tool down the back edge and probably lever it gently up with a small screwdriver as anything plastic wont have the strength required.
I put tape along the edge of the dash panel to avoid marks, the 'hard' plastics in the fours' interior have the consistency of recently cooled toffee

I used a plastic spudger to remove mine. There are 2 clips on the edge facing you, about 8mm in from each side, and one in the middle of the edge nearest the windscreen. (If you unclip the edge facing you then the cover easily pulls out).

I started with a small screwdriver (a tiddly wee thing I use for the keys on my flute) but it didn't really have enough leverage and I was afraid I'd break something. I noticed the guys who fitted my new garage doors left three plastic thingies of different thicknesses that might do the job, or at least start it.

Unfortunately I tripped and fell a couple of weeks ago and wrenched my left shoulder. This has to be added to the list of jobs that won't get done until that's better. (If someone would like to come round and fit the new strip light under my kitchen cupboards, that would be good...)

I used a knife and my credit card. A spudger would be better suited though.
