What do you think?

It’s excellent. Shame you couldn’t get MG to implement that!
Thanks. I'm going to go through the whole app at some point and simplify it - MG would be welcome to it. There are some comically bad aspects to it, I especially love the spelling mistakes and 90s clip art they've used for the animations.

They said they listen to the customers so you might see these in the next app updates

What it really needs is to be able to pre-heat the car while it's plugged in but not charging. I mean, what's that even about, MG? Surely the most common time people will want to pre-heat their cars is before venturing out to them on a snowy morning, after they've been charging during the night!

Can you restart the charge then preheat ?
When I restart a charge on my Gen1 ZS, that's had a full charge, it always starts drawing current again, either topping up the charge a bit or equalising the battery.

Honestly, I've only had the car since last month and only tried the pre-heat a couple of times when it did actually work. It was other people who brought this up, when I was complaining about not being able to lock the car with the app while it was on a type 2 charger (actually charging).

But I have an SR and the battery always charges to 100%, so I'm doubtful if it would start again after getting there and equalising. I guess I'll find out, come October or so.

It doesn't - once it's at 100% the car won't allow a restart of the charge. (At least mine doesn't).

I think this will affect other people more than me, but it's a real bug. I mean, surely most people will plug their cars in to charge when they park up at home, and by the time they want them again the charge will be finished. So if they want the car heated, they have to go out in the snow to unplug it? What the hell, MG?

Lovely design SD43. How about having a go at the infotainment screen and GOM. My ZS EV has the smallest lettering for miles remaining or percentage of battery especially when you are using Android Auto or I guess CarPlay. Its about 6pts which is difficult enough to read in broad daylight when the car is stil, driving its dangerous.

I do hope MG do look at good posts like yours.

I posted on another thread about this this morning. Mine appears to work fine when the charge has finished

You were charged to only 80% though. SRs charge to 100%.
My Trophy will start the heating if it's plugged in and not charging but, as you point out, only when it is charged to less than 100%. Once it's charged to 100% it won't start the heating. So our Trophy often disguises the exact same problem by not being fully charged. It ought to heat when plugged in regardless of charge state.
