MG4 Snagging list after 1000m

Seen reports today of an ID4 locking the rear doors of the car due to a child lock electronics fault, not ideal if you have little ones in the back, so it's not just a MG issue.

What other car brands use the same make and type of technology as MG and don’t have issues?
I am basing my answer on what was said here before and on other sites some time back on the same technology from third party suppliers being used for MG4's and other EV's and also ICE vehicles. I have heard of Teslas having tech issues similar to MG4's and there may be other EV's with issues, but have not heard of ICE Toyota's, Nissan's, Mitsubishis, Hyundai's, Kia's, Ford's whatever having the SAME issue with the same sourced tech that is applied to the MG4.
That is why I indicated possible quality control issues to keep costs down unless someone has a better explanation.
In saying that I am not devoted to ICE vehicles and am keen to check out the MG4 when it arrives in Australia in a few months time and hopefully they will have sorted out all issues by then.

Update after visit 1

  1. Oil leak - I did see some patches but its been so wet and mushy its hard to say for sure if i have it, i hope i do so they install the mod
No evidence of oil leak
  1. Under tray bulge - logged on pickup of the car so should be simple
Replacement ordered
  1. Drivers door button to unluck the car doesnt work anymore
Replacement ordered
  1. Software update for the recall and the Lane Kill Assist hopefully
They say it’s on the latest version
  1. Wind noise from the drivers side only at ~40mph and above
They said it could be the under tray. I didn’t show them the video I made sadly
  1. Light beam/reach in darkness - Even at the furthest setting the reach of the headlight is dangerously short. Auto Full beam is ok if a bit twitchty but even following a car at a safe distance there is a void of light. I wonder if this would pass an MOT light test in current form?
Missed from check
  1. Noisy AC compressor
Issue logged with MG

It’s going back for the replacement parts so will ask again about the wind noise and the headlight beam

Are you saying that you have adjusted the headlights using the screws under the bonnet and they are still not high enough?

In all the cases I have heard of so far, it is because they are not adjusted right. There are two screws under the bonnet, one for each light and adjusting them is easy.
Yes. Mine had to be adjusted by the dealer, too. It was delivered with the main beams projecting directly on the floor in front of the car. Now, after correct alignment, the lights (both dipped and main beams) are excellent.

Update after visit 2 (6500 miles)

  1. Oil leak - I did see some patches but its been so wet and mushy its hard to say for sure if i have it, i hope i do so they install the mod
No evidence of oil leak
  1. Under tray bulge - logged on pickup of the car so should be simple
Replacement fitted
  1. Drivers door button to unluck the car doesnt work anymore
Replacement was meant to be fitted. Turns out they didn’t realise it wasn’t painted so they didn’t fit it
  1. Software update for the recall and the Lane Kill Assist hopefully
They say it’s on the latest version
  1. Wind noise from the drivers side only at ~40mph and above
They said again they came SEE a fault. They want me to gather evidence of others who had this fixed and email them

Missed from check but insisted it was checked on the MOT ramp. It was out
  1. Noisy AC compressor
Issue logged with MG from the first time but they also want me to give more evidence. They could turn the ac on and hear it

It struck me today that I’ve done more miles in my short time in my born than I did in 6 months of my 4, seeing as it was in the garage a lot and the wife had no confidence in driving it when I did have it (she loves the born and uses it a lot)
My snag list after 1400 miles….nothing.
