Anyone else driven a Tesla 3?

Tesla dropped their prices on brand new inventory cars in UK

Model 3 SR now £38790

Model Y SR now £40590

Apr 4.9%

That's a proper good deal!
I think this is in part because the new M3 is coming soon and they want to clear out inventory. We don't know much about the changes yet, whether they are small or extensive. Anyone heard?

I agree, good deal all the same

Even older Tesla models are perfectly suitable for everyday use. They still receive OTA updates and to be honest, a five year old Model S is still better than most of today's offerings.

If there was a supercharger on my route to work I would have bought an old Model S with free supercharging long ago.

In the UK you have to get a 6+ (I think) year old Model S to still be eligible for free supercharger network usage. (I think 2017 cars were the last to be so eligible).

I found the Tesla Model 3 Long Range's ride very hard, and harsh to the point of being unacceptable. The way the cars are manufactured, with the interior lowered through the roof aperture means you cannot buy one without a panoramic greenhouse roof since they all have one. There is no shade, the roof does not open.

The MG4 rides far, far better than the Tesla I drove on every surface. Interestingly there is no trade-off in handling terms, with great cornering and high levels of grip. The MG4 is easier to place on the road, easier to park and offers the security and protection and all-weather comfort of a proper steel roof. The MG4 provides a superior car at an excellent price. No contest, for me anyway.
but still some people focus on tech, undeniably the software of Tesla is 200% better than MG. To me, I dont care as I dont need auto steering, lane keep, etc. I like my manual driving .... not computer.

Hi all,
I've come from a Tesla Model 3 Performance and went into an MG4 SE SR! It was the only thing available. I love the MG actually, but it is a very different car.

Aside from the sheer acceleration of the M3P it's a heavier car, the wheels were a bit crashy with hard suspension (that I was expecting) Loads of space for people and luggage. I loved it. Bad points were the cost (!), the boot opening wasn't very big, so whilst there was a lot of luggage space, you could get a 19" server rack or a large cool box in the boot.

Software wise, I liked the infotainment. I'd say it was way better than the MG4 IMHO. Charging rate was stellar (I did manage to hit 250kW on a number of occasions) and being able to use all Tesla superchargers was fab.

What else? 1 pedal driving was great (once the software update enabled it) Sentry mode was good. It was a better car but then again, it was twice the price of my MG4.

Saying all that, I've just ordered an MG4 XPower so that'll put me up there with the Tesla's performance and I think I'm going to be really happy with it.

Tesla usually just do incremental changes. In the model 3 since launch there has been a slightly new interior, new battery cells and incremental software (significant) changes that have all been slowly rolled out with no fanfare.

I'd guess that there won't be a "new" model 3, they'll just keep making improvements.

The new revised model 3 (project Highland) is due this year, or early next.
Apparently quite extensive revisions to lights, sensors, cameras, front and rear end revisions

That'll be interesting to keep an eye on then. I'd bet there is only small visible changes. Looking at the "new" model S. The insides are a bit different but you'd be hard pressed to pick one out externally!

It's always interesting to see what Tesla do next because they've acted very differently to legacy car makers in the past.

Yes, that's what I am talking about. I fear it will only be slightly different on the exterior, which I think is a big mistake. I would want a modern exterior and the more choice people have from other manufacturers, the more sales Tesla will lose due to their very limited choice of models. I am sure they can still grow a lot but there will come a point where people will go elsewhere.

12 cars in your lifetime?
Pah….amateur…. 😜
Seriously I’ve been in my current job 4 years this month and I’m in my fifth car since joining them alone 😂 🙈

Coincidentally, everyone at work keeps telling me to get a Tesla, I keep mentioning them.
But £150-£200 a month more than the Cupra for the same PCP terms is silly.
If I was buying outright, a Tesla hands down, no contest.
Amateur! I have had 6 cars this year! I started with the VW TRoc, changed for the MG4 (the worst car I ever owned by far) went to a Mini, then back to a BMW 1 series TCI, changed for a BMW 4 series, then on to my current Puma.

You must be young if in your opinion the MG is the worst car you've owned. I give you the Morris Marina and the Austin Montego 🤣

I am not young, but I felt very old clambering out of the back door of the MG after being locked in! I am very unforgiving of that event, it drives my absolute dislike of the car. People say it was a software glitch, that it's now sorted and that's true, but if it happened to them, they would understand that it was very serious. Couple that with the undertray issue and MG delivered a car that was 'not fit for purpose'. I was thankful in some ways for that as I rejected the car and got a refund. I was prepared to sell for 17k just a few weeks after buying for 26k because there was no way I was keeping it.

I made a very silly mistake by buying the car online, driving 350 miles to collect it and not having the bottle to walk away at that point. I looked at it in horror really, it just looked so cheap and nasty in real life. I didn't like to take commission away from the young salesman, so I took it.

I had a Montego by the way, curiously, the doors all opened and it used to let me out!

I shouldn't stay here really, I should leave, but I keep coming back. I am reading about the Tesla to be honest....but I don't actually like the look of them, especially those awful wheels...so I might go for a BMW i4 ev instead. I have had a Kona and a Peugeot 208 electric so far, never liked the Kona, another cheap looking car, but the Peugeot was lovely, well built, but it had those awful day-time light strips, that looked, well, it looked a bit silly really....but it was a nice car.

Why so many in such a short space of time?
I have been through something of an obsession with buying new cars, in all honesty. I have had 'a lot' of new cars since 2008 and I mean 'a lot'. I am now coming through the other side, believe it or not...and I will buy just one more car in my life. I aim to buy a Tesla or a BMWi4 later this year.

I have no regrets, but it has been expensive!
