Hi everyone.

Received my Trophy (Europe). It's running version R30 for the software.
Overall, mechanically no issues yet. No oil leak and no undertray bulge. Consumption is great for our day-to-day driving. Even with some highways mixed in, I will get average of 15 to 16 kW/100km.

But software wise.. here is some feedback:
  • Adaptive cruise control and LKA works fine.. it's not perfect but not a big issue. First time having these on any car so.. have no real comparison.
  • Screen interactivity is bad.. software is overall poorly designed and some basic functions (like operating FM radio) is really an issue that no car should have.
  • For some reason the car stopped having 4G Internet connectivity: No weather updates, cannot check for software updates, cannot get traffic from navigation. On top right I have 4G and full bar, but no connectivity. If I connect the car to my phone's hotspot wifi, everything works. Weird thing is.. the iSmart app works fine! I've reported this and It seems no one else has complained.
  • Since day one that the time on the clock jumps forward, sometimes one hour, other times 4 hours. I've disabled GPS option, checked the timezone. It's also quite random..
  • A/C temperature management.. yeah... outside temp is 23ºC and I have to set it to 26/27 to get a good temperature that isn't freezing.. I haven't even tested getting hot air yet. But this has been acknowledge to be an issue, but MG is still not providing information if this is software or faulty sensors that require recall.
  • Bluetooth: I followed a recommendation to change the car name even at the stand. Connects to 2 android phones without issue. There are some software bugs on the music widget but.. it's not related to the BT connection itself.
  • Android Auto: Seems to work great until the moment It will crash and quit and some random times. Also acknowledge as an issue, no feedback about a fix.
  • Consumption graph is useless right?!
  • 360 camera with blinkers at low speed is just idiot..I have to turn It off, but then when I need it there is no dedicated button for it which is a hassle. Both favorites are for Energy recuperation mode and A/C controls. If they would save my Energy recuperation preference, I would probably use the button for opening the 360 camera

If you have any tips let me know.

The about 5 degree offset between the displayed temperature and the actual temperature is a commonly reported problem. Indeed I don’t recall seeing an “it’s okay for me” posting.

Do you often change your energy recuperation setting on the move? If not, the swapping the favourite to the 360 camera might be worth it.

I started with that button mapped to the drive mode and then realised I was only using it at the start of a journey so switched the button to operate the camera. I find it handy when parking to be able to switch the camera on when going forwards, though goodness knows why it can't stay on for a while at low speeds regardless of direction once it's come on when reversing. That would be so handy for manoeuvring.

When I'm in the city, I don't mind the default third level. But it's quite normal here to switch to a motorway and with hilly terrain. In those cases I need to switch to 1/2 or adaptive.

Ah, I see. I always keep mine in level 3 regen, but that wouldn't suit you.

You can moderate the regen using your right foot. ;)

Or do what I often do - just set it to adaptive before setting out. :)

I have this switched off also. Easy to activate the 360 though, just swipe left on the Home Screen and the 360 button is there

Just to give an update regarding the no Internet connectivity (4G) issue:

This Saturday I decided to reset the system to factory defaults.
After initial setup and putting in my preferences, It has weather / live maps / internet connectivity back. Let's see if It will stay this way..

After 4 weeks with my Trophy I found:
1. Under tray warping near fixings of the rear panel, not present when I picked up the car
2. AC squeaks like a budgie in distress. Heard outside the car
3. Power consumption graph does not work
4. A rattle has appeared on the interior passenger side

Fixes:
1. Rear tray should be replaced with one which fits much better under warranty
2. AC compressor needs the oil replaced and regassing, under warranty
3. R33 update fixes this
4. Pipes directing air flow to the passenger footwell knock on their surroundings. Easy self fix with a secure padding of your choice. Or get your dealer to fix it

Hopefully you wont find any of the above, but wise to check in case.

Called my dealer today regarding the above, they accepted this and I awaiting a call back to book in to be fixed.

Under your fixes:
1. I think the chances of getting the rear under tray replaced under warranty is zero.
2. Mine does the same - does a change of oil (different type?) actually fix this? If so then I would also wish it to be fixed under warranty - has anyone achieved this?
3. R33 does not fix the circular graph issue where no regen is ever shown?
4. Luckily I have not had this problem but agree that it is a relatively easy self fix

1. Incorrect - others have had theirs fixed under warranty and my dealer has accepted this too. This is a defect, warranty fix.
2. Yes, replacement of oil with a new oil type and re-gassing fixes. Others have this fixed, again my dealer has accepted this under warranty
3. R33 does fix it, when data is available to be shown, others have advised so. My dealer will confirm
4. Keep an eye on it.. or ear out for it

OK, for 1 I have seen mixed messages on the rear under tray replacement with many dealers refusing to replace them on advice from MK UK. For 2 I will need to look into this with my dealer. For 3 the R33 firmware certainly does not fix the circular graph regen issue for me and many others, so will be interesting to see what your dealer will come up with.

1. Read through this post: Undertray dip / bulge
2. Read through this post: Aircon Pump Squeak / Chirp
3. Not what I have heard, my dealer informed me they know of the fault and R33 resolves
Please let us know what happens when your car goes in for the "fixes". I and I suspect many others will be very interested to see if all the fixes are applied and work, but truly hope they do as I can then go to my dealer with some more evidence on suitable fixes being available.

2 days later. I have spoken to the sales person twice now and I am still awaiting a call back from their 'Service Department' to book the car in / discuss.

Nope, they have just one number on their website, to cover sales, parts and servicing..... but answered by a sales person every-time. See below:

Weylands Newbury

Maybe a step forward from the Volvo garage taking the calls as they did previously !
Try 01635 903 090
I got the number by asking the chat box.
