Cleaning the wheels…

Interesting ... does that mean you can't "rotate" the wheels (front/back) as the TPMS will indicate low pressure from the wrong wheel?
Apparently so . I read about it on here so took it as read not from experience. As a precaution i marked all wheels up and coded the like for like wheel with no issues. As i understand it some manufacturers self learn but these dont.

This is the cheaper bit of kit which will read the valve and write to the new one .There is no MG4 listed so i used MG ZS which worked fine.

Yes, this is right. It is a pain and most tyre places don't like getting involved for this reason.

In answer to the OP, I think it would be best to take off the trims then clean and apply some wax or ceramic protection to the alloys, then do the same with the trims (both sides) before putting the trims back on. Even better would be to apply protection the the back of the alloys as well if you want to take the wheels off.

Thank you. I’ll probably give this a go the next time I have the opportunity. Sounds like a plan

Do the alloy wheels need a locking wheel nut?

I’ve had mine just over a week and it hasn’t come with anything so been meaning to ask the dealer. I’ve never had a car with a wheel trim over alloys before !!

Have? No
Need? Depends where you live I suppose.

But they’re the most unattractive alloys, I wouldn’t think they’re very nickable.
