Noisy AC compressor fixed under warranty today

What was the noise like? When I turn this on prior to getting in vehicle I hear a whiring. Was it like that or something else?
 
Mine is more like a chirp, or a squeaky bicycle wheel, as it gets faster/slower with compressor speed.

Mine is too. Not a constant chirp but but a second or so intervals. Not very loud at all and on my car, it’s unnoticeable from the inside.

My dealer said it was normal. Can you give anymore detail so I can ask my dealer to check their database from MG?
 
It’s gonna be difficult to quantify noisy here unless there’s a recording of it, IMHO.

Mine makes a noise and I can’t hear it in the car, but I wouldn’t say it’s noisy.

Not really pal they just said they removed compressor drain oil replace with different oil that mg recommended then regas ice cold and alot quieter can still hear when on but what I would call acceptable noise level
 
Just like that 😁 Mine’s not like that, it’s much quieter, but if I can work out how to do it, I’ll try to record and upload a recording.
 
My car was in yesterday too lot lots of other bits. They ignored the noisy ac compressor again and said I need to gather evidence of others with the issue and the dealers so they can raise an issue

That is just ridiculous. If you have demonstrated your car has the fault, they need to fix the fault. You have clearly shown and demonstrated the issue, The onus is not on you to gather evidence from others of the problem.
Imagine if you had a whining & rattling motor, would they need evidence from others to raise with MG before even attempting to fix? I think not
I'd go straight back to them and demand the fix.

@jon0881 If you need some backup... your legal rights if something goes wrong with your car
 
To be honest I told him if you don’t do anything now and it breaks then you’ll be replacing the unit so since it’s working I’ll crack on

How are you finding the sound levels during warmer days when the HVAC is at full power? Was discussing the noise in another thread, and my SE is horrendous at full power, as are other members.
 
How long was your car in the workshop? I have the same noise.
However I can only hear it when I am not driving and do not have any music turned on.
 
The character of the noise I hear sounds "normal". It's not something it would have occurred to me to question. But it's intriguing that some people have eliminated it completely.
