Which one is best and why? Apart from range because we know MG5 has a larger range.

For me the MG ZS looks nice but the MG5 is more practical.

Yes good points. I agree the ZS is a nicer looking car. For me though I've ordered an MG5 for the range, space, speed, acceleration and lower ride. For me I don't like adaptive cruise and lane assist and in this country would I have issues with the sunroof in a few years and would I use it much. Mrs would prefer the ZS but it's my car to drive, she's getting the ZOE as it's smaller.

I preferred the looks, gizmos and sunroof of the ZS. For me it was the range and extra space, mostly in the back seats. I test drove them back to back and found the MG5 to be more planted and quicker. I also prefer the instrument cluster

Although I would have liked adaptive cruise, I never had it before so figured I wouldn't miss it.

This is our first BEV & the MG ZS EV was just within our budget plus being retired and no commute range doesn't really come into it, It's perfect for our needs.
One of the main requirements for this car was the ease in getting in & out of it and the higher driving position.

Yeah, I'm 6'4" and find getting in and out of my MG5 a squeeze and very low. But I would still rather have a more basic car in the 5 than all the lane assist stuff on the ZS, the insurance companies don't like it if its fitted and you turn it off.

For me I chose the ZS for the following reasons over the MG5: MG Pilot (I've had lots of cars with adaptive cruise control and it's an absolute must in any new car I buy), panoramic sunroof (both cars are mainly black inside and quite dingy, the sunroof transforms the interior ambiance), higher ground clearance (easier to get in and out as a disabled driver)

The only thing that I miss from the MG5 is the automatic climate control (can't believe the ZS doesn't have it, it's like going back to the stone age!) and the huge digital display in front of the driver (also the MG5 gets a battery percentage remaining display and the ZS doesn't)
I also wouldn't say no to the extra range and performance of the MG5.

I too have 2 labs so its the MG5 for me. Had a Golf Estate before so should be about the same size.

We had a ZS EV as a courtesy car whilst the 5 was getting it's window tints done.
Nice car, but felt was a bit more plasticy inside than the 5.
That said, I'm not a fan of SUVs anyway, so was always going to prefer the 5.
