Mg AA assist if going to Europe

Can you pay extra if you already have the Mg AA assist through the services to get it extended into Europe too?

There's nothing I can find on the website (or linked PDFs) that address this. I guess you could call the AA number and ask?

I wonder what assist our European friends on the forum have?

You have to take short term european cover out in addition, existing only covers UK? You might get it cheaper from other providers than the AA

If you go on his link and download the details, PDF in French so a little difficult to translate, you will see that the European registered models are covered in the UK so I'm assuming its vice versa, there is a great big list of restrictions at the bottom of the document. Check with your dealer? or MGUK ???? Good luck. I reckon the AA will by default try selling you extra cover, but worth a try.

The UK PDF files make no reference to the EU at all (except in one section about data protection). So I wouldn't be so sure about making that assumption.

From the MG European website:-

Free roadside assistance for quick support in exceptional cases:
Year 1: Included
Year 2: Annual extension with complete vehicle maintenance by an official MG agent up to a maximum of 7 years.

MG offers pan-European roadside assistance and associated services (towing, on-site repair, transfer, secondary services,...) for all new vehicles sold by an official MG agent in Europe (excluding the UK), as long as you have your vehicle maintained by an official MG service centre.

I have extra, as a member of ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club) and functions much the same as the RAC and AA.

I don't know why the UK is different to Europe but there it is.

Check your car insurance too. Some say European cover but it's only third party not even fire and theft. You can usually increase it to fully comprehensive for a few pounds.
