I've had my ZSEV for a month now. Overall it's a really great experience.

However, the software running the vehicle has some bugs, the sort of thing that my previous Mazda 3 didn't have. It's only small stuff, but I think it's an indication of the effects of making a budget vehicle. Things like:
  • This morning when I started the vehicle and stuck it in reverse, the rear camera image came on the display along with the transparent image of the main menu. It was fine next time I used reverse.
  • The other day I couldn't get any response from finger presses on the display. I did the long push on the display button, turned it off and then back on again and all was fine.
  • Yesterday I cracked open the sunroof (on the angle), then a bit later opened it to the first stop, then tried to close it. It got almost closed then it backed off like it had jammed on something. I tried it again, same result. The it wouldn't close at all, but opening was OK. It opened fully, and I couldn't close it. I parked, shut off the car and tried again. Still no good, then I tried the button in "close the angled sunroof" mode, and it closed. All OK since.
There's no way that I'll be able to show these glitches to the dealer. They are so infrequent Ill just have to live with them and hope for software upgrades in the future.

Anyone else had these experiences?

The infotainment unit does need rebooting sometimes if you get a glitch, hold the home button until the screen goes blank and then continue to hold until you see the MG symbol appear and then release; it does play up sometimes, but a quick reset will normally work.
Regarding the sun roof I’ve no idea but there is a sensor to stop it closing if fingers or other items are causing an obstruction, have another look and make sure it’s completely free and if not just report it to your dealer so it’s on record and if it happens again get it back to them, it maybe a faulty sensor....just a thought.

Thoughts on the operation of the head unit have been widely discussed on the forum.
The head unit for the car was out sourced for the ZSEV.
What you are witnessing is normal I am afraid 😟.
