Hi Folks,

Did any one hear of the recall on the mg zs ev? I had the software update and the guy said there was a recall on the car for a driver side wiring loom. He said he couldn't do the recall as the computer was broken.
He said its not a big issue and to do it at the first service.
Does anyone know what implications, if any, the fault has on the car? And is it ok to leave it for 6 months?

Thanks

Hi
There was a bulletin for this, not a recall but it was way back and we fit the new drivers door loom during pdi.
There was a small vin range affected. So I would not worry. Did he check your car was within the range affected? If not yours might not even need it doing.

Thanks for the reply. God I dont know, it went in for the software update and he told be its due the recall bit the systems were down so he couldn't do it. That all I was told.

Hi there is the bulletin a software issue or the actual loom? My ZSEV is acting up with mirrors not closing or opening locking system and drivers side windows not operating at all... any ideas please. Just had first service a month ago. Cheers

My 2021 zs e has just gone in for the first service and i was informed it has a recall to be carried out whilst in. I will let you know what they carried out when i collect the car

Our ZS EV is one of the early adopter cars, in the first 1,000 cars to be ordered.
It arrived at the dealer, two weeks before Xmas back in 2019.
We collected it on Jan 6th 2020.
The wiring loom was not picked up on the PDI - but maybe it missed the service bulletin ?.
When it was submitted to the dealer for its first service, I mentioned that I had seen info about the wiring loom.
They checked our VIN number and said “Yes” it needs doing.
The loom was ordered and it was installed at the time of the first service.
Apparently, the loom is replaced and given a new reroute of the loom.
Replacing the loom on our car turned out to be troublesome and the car was stuck on the ramp for a couple of days, until MG Tech Team could advise the dealer of a fix.
The key was left in the car at the time of the wiring loom being replaced.
When the power was restored, the car detected this as a possible attempt to steal the car and set off the alarm constantly.
You could not bring the car alive and it was completely dead !.
The single key had been scrabbled in the process.
It has now been realised, that the key needed to be WELL out of range of the car, while the wiring loom is being replaced !.

The recall was an update for the infotainment system, they have had a problem with them freezing according to the dealer.

Not sure it made any difference on mine.
I never had any problems at all before the update, but since, it has on a couple of occasions taken about a minute to boot up and I have had the default screen superimposed over the reversing camera once.

I've had no problem with mine in the year i've had it. so cross fingers i won't get a problem now..
