MG ZS EV Facelift - Press Launch 11/11/21

Hi miles, ordered a new ZS EV at chorley recently. The trophy version, can I turn in the heater and AC with the app, or is that only trophy connect? Thanks for the fab video
The app works on all versions - SE, Trophy, and Trophy Connect.

The only benefit of the Trophy Connect is that it also gives access to Live Traffic with dynamic routing, Weather updates, Amazon Music streaming, and Live Points-of-Interest searches in the Nav.

Yes, I have to say that does feel like a step cheaper, but quite like the look of the wheel covers
They are alloy wheels under the covers.

They've done this for Aero - like Kona Electric, and Tesla Model 3.

Those plastic covers wouldn't last a month on my street before they got lifted. The wheels underneath look better than I thought they would though! Still I'd have to look for a way to add a diamond cut option or something.

And is it the case that locking wheel nuts is an extra?

Those trims don't come off easily. I had a good writhe around trying to get them off the car I filmed, and gave up as I didn't have any tools.
The trims cover the wheelnuts, so they don't come with locking wheel nuts as they're hidden anyway

Im lead to believe the covers serve 2 purposes. one to aid the efficency. where possible, the second to remove the warranty implications of diamond cut alloys, as its always a different option of who's responsibility under the warranty for when the lacquer starts to peel or the alloys start to go milky, due to water ingress or contamination

a cover is easier to replace and less chance or damage due to being plastic.

just my thoughts :)

I wonder what the trims cost to replace. The 2006 Prius ones were £29 each and the 2016 Prius had 5 plastic inserts on each wheel that were £14 each or £78 per wheel.
I do like the alloys underneath though, with the spokes painted gloss black maybe ?

I agree !.
If you very slightly graze a kerb with the new wheels, then you are likely to get away with a quick blend and restore the treatment to the rim.
If you even LOOK at the kerb with the diamond cut alloy's you are facing a large bill to rectify.
Many thanks for the video @MilesperkWh .
Personal choice I know, but I think it looks good in the Battersea Blue ?.
Question :- I know the tyre profile has changed very slightly on the face lift, but do you think you could use the space saver wheel from the previous model, just to make the short trip to the tyre shop ???.
Thanks.

I have read somewhere that the difference is so minimal that the spare wheel and slightly smaller tyre will be fine.

You didn't include that in the video - blooper reel to come? :ROFLMAO:

I think you're absolutely right as to the likely reasons they've made this change. Still I find them to be a little off-putting...borderline tacky. That said I am only going based on video & a few pics, so hopefully they'll look better in person 🤞

If not, fingers crossed someone who's got a head for wheel tech specs can aid in figuring out the right size 18" to exchange for whilst maintaining a good amount of profile.

Still think a decent homologated alloy works better and less fuss. Wouldn't fancy fighting the damned trim when I inevitably get a puncture in mid winter.
