Which home EV charger to install?

I want to install a charger using a competent professional electrician that I've used for years. We have the 32a wiring all there. The problem so far is that I can't buy the charger without the install being included. The electrician is not olev registered to obtain the £350 grant but can do the install for less than these "from" inclusive prices. He believes they are simply hiking up their prices before the grant is applied. I trust the electrician sooner than a complete stranger.
Sync EV can be bought via TLC Electrical.

Rolec stuff can be bought from pretty much anywhere but doesn't have a great reputation on some forums.

I've had the Wallbox charger fitted through Octopus, well happy with it as it does everything through the app charger. It cost £575 fitted

I bought my Hypervolt direct from HV. It's not installed yet as I've cancelled the order for my MG5 LR (hoping a test drive in the new ZS EV will win me over). I have an approved electrician to install it (he's done some preparatory work) and he will apply for the grant, once I have the car's VIN.

Hi Newbie here. I'd posted a question about charging costs on the newbie thread, thanks for all the useful replies. I'm waiting delivery of my SR until my charger is installed. My local MG dealer, Unity, recommended Rolec (Tru-pen) and quoted @£350. A number of calls & emails later with the proposed installer and we are looking at £766! Should we look at a different charger like Zappi given the largely poor reviews of Rolec and how easy/hard is it to find a professional, reliable, reasonably priced and installer (West Midlands)? Any advice really appreciated. Thanks
Hi, I've Done a little research having recently purchased a ZSEV.
I'm going for a Zappi charger being installed through our energy supplier Octopus energy (we are on the Octopus GO tarrif).
It was a bit of a pain setting up the installation requirements. Getting it installed for £795 for a tethered unit with a 7.5 Metre cable (with a 3 Yr warrenty).
I've looked at a number of YouTube videos/reviews on the Zappi charger and they come out very well.

Had a wallbox installed on 6th October 2021 - it didn't work - replacement fitted 23rd November 2021 - this one won't work either!!!! Tried car on charger at Lidl - worked on 22kWh and CCS without any issue. 'Granny' charger works fine!

Totally new to the EV scene. ZS ordered with like the rest us expected delivery March/April.
Just looking for some advice on Chargers please.
I have solar panels, (miss sold them, sued, got a little bit of money off, long story. These are the panels that pump warm air into your house but don't actually work in the winter).
We have East/West facing panels, 8 on each.
I'm just starting to get quotes in.
Anyway, questions (some may be a bit dim)
Do all chargers that are solar compatible actually tell you when you are drawing electricity from your panels?
If they do the same job, why are some more expensive than others?
Will it charge just as quick when only drawing from the panels?

Should I still look for an EV tariff? , I'm one of the many ones that have just had my supplier swapped as mine had gone bust.

Any help very much appreciated.
