Deal Agreed Facelift MG ZS EV Long Range - Exclusive Forum Offer!

Agreed. Seems like a pointless decision by MG to have a separate model, manage all logistics of ordering, delivering, etc cause all this confusion for the sake of £500 difference. They should have one Trophy with everything in - just like they have in Europe.
It would likely be £500 more expensive. A more basic SE or full bells and whistles trophy connect. Having the non-connect trophy gives those who aren't interested in the added functionality the opportunity to save a few quid.

Sounds reasonable, but it's curious that it's only in the UK this is being done (from what I understand).

In Ireland they only have the 2 models (from the reviews I watched they're still called the Excite and Exclusive).

What's actually included in theirs? Do we get a bit more functionality? Have MG analysts figured it would be a good idea to offer a slightly less techy option? Looking at what people are ordering it seems to have been a good call with most who posted on the poll here going for Trophy over connect.

I ordered connect as I regret not going all-in on previous cars. FOMO is strong with me. Others might not want it all. I just don't want to miss out on a feature and later regret it. When is the vehicle to load adaptor coming out again?

Hi All,

Thanks for being active members of this forum - it's been great to see the growth over the past couple of years since @Stuart Wright and I first saw the ZS EV together at the EV Festival at Gaydon in 2019.

To continue to support the forum members, I've come up with an exclusive discount on the new facelifted, long range 72.6kWh MG ZS EV:

£500 discount, plus free Type-2 charging cable and carpet mats set.

This is on top of MG's PCP offer of £1500 finance deposit contribution, if you wish to take finance at 4.9% APR.

To confirm, the RRPs are:

SE Long Range - £28,495 (after grant)
Trophy Long Range - £30,995 (after grant)
Trophy Connect Long Range - £31,495 (after grant)

So with our discount, if taking finance (which you could clear a month after taking it out...), the balance to finance would be:

SE Long Range - £26,495
Trophy Long Range - £28,995 (after grant)
Trophy Connect Long Range - £29,495 (after grant)

Solid Paint (Arctic White): £Free
Metallic Paint (Pearl Black, Monument Silver, Battersea Blue): £545
Tri-Coat Paint (Dynamic Red): £695

To get the special discounted prices, please quote "MGEVs Forum" as the discount code when speaking to one of our sales people at Burnley (Tel: 01282 507780) or Chorley (01257 240614).

Hi Miles

Can you post an update of these prices post the reduction in PICG threshold and amount please?

I am a cash (with trade in) buyer but might take advantage of PCP if I could pay off after a month.

Cheers

With the latest PICG changes it pushes the Trophy trim into a much more competitive arena, and takes away a key USP of MG - price and value for money.

Are MG likley to come up with work around the RRP so it falls under the new £32000 limit?

I don't know how a price reduction would contractually affect all of the existing orders that have the PicG.

Wouldn't MG effectively be giving up approximately £2K on every outstanding order?

The majority of orders aren't likely to be fulfilled until March. I wouldn't expect any changes in price until then... And if they did, the government could just move the goal posts again.

They will have to as I don’t think they have an option. Value for money is the only USP MG currently have than their competitors else every other similar car is superior to MG in almost every way.

I hope MG are not naive to assume they can survive the competition without reducing their prices and offering other heavy discounts like previously done. If they don’t, within a year they will be losing the battle once other Chinese brands start coming with better and more value cars plus other well known brands start rolling out more reasonable electric alternatives.

Which is a good thing for customers right as MG rather aggressively priced the car in the first place compared to previous MG ZS EV (which people could buy around £20-22k initially) and initial MG5 (which again most bought around £20-22k mark with recent ones around £22-24k mark). So jump for this new MG ZS EV was too high around £28-£30k with all discounts/grants applied plus don’t forget they started charging extra for colour options apart from white which they never used to before!

So it’s about time they get their pricing more competitive and on par as before. A bit of increase say around £2k may have been more acceptable but with £7-8k net increase (even worse with grant changes now) to the customer they got it massively wrong this time.

So by reducing the price to get it under £32k grant limit will mean welcome savings for both new and existing orders - I really hope they do it else will start losing market share quickly.

Yes, the problem with the Trophy price is its over 30k.... for me the MG5 at just over 20k was good... the ZS and long range MG5 would be good at say 24-26k, but now with the grant lower and the price of the ZS over 30k its prices itself out of the range for most people.

Think you’re right. Don’t forget it took Vauxhall (Stelantis) less than a week to cut prices by £3,000

I'll start a new thread on Monday with our new offer. I'm closing this thread, due to the changes in the government grant, to avoid confusion
Hi @MilesperkWh
Are you likely to be covering this subject on a future Monday night pod cast ???.
Good content I am thinking ???????.
What say you ?.
