MG ZS EV Facelift - Have you ordered?

Leasing company rang earlier to say they've been given an updated provisional date of 7th April so I can expect vehicle mid April.

Hopefully they can stick to that as PCP on current car ends on the 1st May. Get 21 days to return it but would rather not dip in to that (and I'm considering one of the "we buy your car" companies so I can get some pennies towards the first payment ;)).

Had a phone call from my dealer today (Baylis MG - Gloucester). I placed my order on the 4th Dec with an original delivery date of the 28th March.

Today they said that the car is now expected on the 6th May. So roughly in line with others who are being told the 8th.

I didn't make the original post, but I think you might be missing there were two battery options for the ZS EV being referred to: 51.1kWh (SR) and 72.6kWh (LR)

As I read it (could be wrong), @superhans is saying that the Standard Range Trophy (£29,995) was £20p/m dearer than the Long Range SE (£29,495) despite the difference in asking price between the two only being £500. Ultimately they went with the LR as SE trim to gain greater range, rather than the SR in Trophy which has smaller battery but upgraded spec.
That's exactly it, sorry for not being clear!

Arnold Clark are taking orders on all models both Long Range and Standard Range, although they claimed Long Range orders would arrive first.

A very well good breakdown of MG orders numbers for the next few months of 2022 from Miles.
Plus the rumoured delayed deliveries of the LR ZS EV Face lift where discussed.
Interesting to note that there will be more SR ZS EV Facelift models available over LR models in February 2022.

Just seems a little haphazard in that you have people who have ordered the LR for months now and they send over more SR? Doesn't lead to a great first impression of MG really.

I think what has happened here is this ( IMHO ).
They sent out the first LR Face lift models to the dealers to create interest / orders for the car.
Then they followed it up with a second wave of the SR range face lift cars to do the same.
The demand for LR orders have been strong, but has got caught out now by chip shortage.
This has left customers for the LR model now having to wait longer for their cars.
Not uncommon right now !.

Perhaps they should focus on keeping customers with current orders happy first? Really had enough with the whole car industry.

You'd assume that the SR uses the same chips as the LR?

This could well be the case, but you have to consider what would you do in the same situation?.
So - You have a limited number of chips, do you put them in the LR models, or do you put them in the SR models, in order to get them shipped out to dealers, in order to create future business ?.
There is your answer !.
They probably never had enough chips to satisfy the back log of the LR models anyway.
For what it’s worth, @Miles is also waiting in-line for his order of his LR model to arrive.
He is predicting April / May also.
We had to wait about four months for our first ZS EV to arrive back in 2019.
Things have only got worse sense then !.
It’s unfortunate but unavoidable in the current climate.

Oh dear, that doesn't bode well for me - I ordered mine last Saturday (8 Jan) from Baylis Gloucester too, they told me delivery would likely be end of April. Guess I should expect a phone call then 😀

I've just been told that my order (ordered on 4th December, with expected March delivery) has been potentially pushed back till May, I was kind of expecting it to happen after reading all the posts :) Dealer has said they'll contact me again about mid Feb to update and inform if anything has changed.

Sorry to hear. It seems we are all going to be waiting some time.

Yeah, I suspect so! I was grateful for the call - When I first bought the car and told March in my head I thought "Yeah right, it'll be June, surely?". Seems I was about right.

Although from listening to the podcast from the MG Gurus last night, it sounds like there isn't an exact science to getting a delivery date. I have read somewhere (maybe here) that some dealers don't know their cars have arrived until they land on our soil.

I've got my leaf to tide me over in the meantime.

I think proposed deliveries are better than many other marques at the moment. VW group cars seem to have a 6-9 month wait as do many Korean cars. Mercedes seems to be year for some Facebook contributors.
