Cant believe I’ve done it again! I drove 70 miles to work and reversed into a space, unloaded the car, locked it and walked away. On return after work the flap was open. Not for the first time this has happened. Thankfully fully no damage caused, but it’s also the socket cover hanging too. I’ve put it down to the routine unplugging being interrupted as I leave for work, yesterday I was distracted by a neighbour and as I was slightly delayed I didn’t “flap up” the car. I wish there was a warning on the flap 🤔😂🙈

My best is North Yorkshire to Cambridge in an MG5 with the flaps hanging out like dirty laundry...

Is there a joining fee or subscription to the flappers club 😂😂

I don't think there are many ZS EV owners that have NOT driven away with that huge charge flap door, stuck up in the air.
Put me on that list folks !.
My previous VW Golf PHEV would put up a warning on the dash panel, if you left open the charging port door.
It was a bit of a odd message, because on booting up the car, it instantly reported a "Check Tailboard".
Very strange terminology, but at least you got a warning to say the door was open.

At least it didn’t say ”flap is open” 😂

Did it twice Within the first few weeks of ownership. Not since. Handy routine someone mentioned on here or on Facebook, take out the charger, don’t focuse on putting the head on the charger or putting it back, make inserting the rubber and closing the flap on the car as always the very first thing, and just hold the charger in the other hand. It’s easy to get distracted and forget if you sort out the charger first.

Had the new car for 4 days. Unplugged this morning and drove off. An hour later I parked up and discovered......

Open flap!

Holding the charger in one hand and closing the flap with the other hand is something that I’ve done unconsciously since day one! (Well not exactly day one as didn’t need to charge that early!). Good, sound advice!

And replaced the rubber bung with your third hand ? :D

Hi all I posted this very picture back in April 21 I think it was as i to had the done the same Silly thing of forgetting to close the charging port, never done it since I made this cost was about zero pence and when not in use it just sits In that silly little slot/pocket in the side of the centre tunnel where the heater and drive selector is.

Brilliant Les - you could prop that up over the transmission selector with the 10 mm spanner 👌
