I have now driven about 12,000 miles over 2 years in my ZSEV and do a regular twice weekly drive home of about 35 miles in the dark, late at night. The roads are pretty empty and straight (A127 and M25) and I therefore use ACC and Lane Keep Assist. Unfortunately, this tends to push me over towards the left hand side of the inside lane; sometimes on to, or even over, the white lines and even when it's dry and the lines are strong and clearly visible. It's always done this. I'm now thinking I might have a problem.

So, is this common with the ZSEV and I'll just have to put up with it, or is it just my car, there are adjustments possible, and I should flag it up on the service in a couple of weeks?

Thanks.

I don’t have an ZSEV but I used to live in Southend so know the A127 by each bump. If I were you I would get this looked at the A127 is one of the most accident prone roads in the country and the m25 sections you will use are also accident black spots. Being in another lane, even if only partly, is an accident waiting to happen.

I have the facelift ZS EV LR and turned off Lane Keep Assist for recent journey on the M25 (clockwise before/after the crossing) for very similar reasons.

In the inside lane the car kept wanting to nudge/shove me to the left which became very un-settling. I noticed on a few sections of tarmac had black lines running in the same direction as the lane markings, I was wondering if this is somehow confusing the car and following them by mistake. Turning it off made the journey more enjoyable/relaxing.

I find this too - it does tend to keep to the left of the lane a bit more than I'm comfortable with. Id don't look at this as a fault, just the way it is. Perhaps they did this to move you further away from oncoming cars, I dunno....

Hmm. Thank you all. I'll flag it up at the service anyway and see what they say, then get back to you. But I don't hold out much hope of an adjustment.

I used it once and decided it was too much like hard work worrying about it - not bothered since. I think most of the gimmicks are a nice feature for sales but not really much good whatever make of car.

I found it more distracting. Asked one of the mechanics at my dealership and seems to be an issue. I now have it switched off by default but turn it on when on motorways.

I don't have LKA on my current car and it's something I look forward to using when my ZS EV LR arrives.

Having done a fair bit of research ahead of time, have you tried MG Pilot rather than just LKA?

My understanding is that LKA will buffer you between the lines and try to avoid you going over either. With MG Pilot enabled, it will try to keep you central within the lines.

Cheers,

Wayne

I'm a big fan of LKA on the current gen, when you get it it's important to go to settings and turn the sensitivity to high. This means that rather than pinballing from one side to the other it will keep you in the very middle of your lane and works very well I find.

Yes. I was wondering about that. I have been using mine in medium.

MG Pilot is just a fancy name for all the driver aids working together. It doesn't do anything differently from having the ACC, LKA, LFA etc active separately.

Didn't know that. Not sure what that means but I'll have a go

I assumed the same thing, but there are various YouTube videos that suggest it's not.

Perhaps they are the same but using LKA on its own uses the system setting for sensitivity which may be defaulted to medium, but MG Pilot automatically uses a higher setting?
