Hi everyone!
Noob and not yet jumped off the ICE bridge, but I'm working on it!
Hoping to bag one of the earliest updated MG5's in Q2 2022. Time will tell if it's possible!

Hi all, not owned an EV as yet, drive a jeep renegade currently. Recently test drove The ZS EV, MG5,Nissan Leaf and Hyundai Kona...really impressed with the MG's. Irony was I told my local dealer I really liked the ZS and MG5 but wondered if there was any facelifts or upgrades coming.... to which he said no...came back home and MG had released the advert the very same day with the new ZS and the upcoming MG5 change due next year!!

Anyway looking forward to price release on Monday for the ZS and just hoping the MG affinity discount continues (as well as the PICG ofc). Really looking forward to going electric.

Why they didn't tell you about the face lifts is a mystery unless they had old stock they wanted to sell you.
What model levels did you drive

Yes I suspect they were trying to get me to buy existing models....(not making a fuss over or naming the dealer but needless to say I will be going to another dealer to make my purchase just as a matter of principle)

I drove excite zs ev and exclusive mg5 (lr version).......I actually preferred the estate which surprised me...felt great...I will either go for the ZS or wait for the facelifted version of the MG5 next year.

All depends on the prices available and how long the affinity discount is going to continue. Was really impressed with both cars.

Hello! Currently drive a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and its an amazing car but boy does it drink the dinosaur juice and the current fuel price trends are leading me to going EV sooner rather than later even though I have only had the Cross for 4 months. Looking about and find that the ZS EV is just (was) in budget. Went to look and test drive one a couple of days ago and then found out about the updated version that was coming soon so scuppered my plans for that but now waiting (im)patiently for pricing and a demonstrator to see if its going to work for me.

Hi All. I had a Renault Zoe EV a few years back, when the real world range was 80 to 120 miles on a full charge! That suited us for the most part but as it was our only car at the time it did occasionally cause inconvenience on our then rare longer journies. The trade off was that charging at this time for us was largely free and living in London we had no Congestion Charge and could park in many places for free as well. When the charging started to cost us and our longer journies increased in volume we decided to go back to Ice and bought a BMW 1 series, which we still currently own and drive daily. I have since gotten a company car so the range is less important but we are now looking to get back into the world of EV.

I am considering the new MG Zs Ev now it has broken the 200 mile barrier in terms of range.

Hi, just joined and have just bought an MG 5 EV. Home charging point is coming next month I think.

Cheers Graham (just to confuse everyone my real name is not Jack as in my user name!)

Hello Graham (jack) and welcome on the forum there is lots of info on here about all MG cars so when reading any of the threads be sure what you are reading about applies-to the MG5 as some problems or comments might only apply to HS or ZS models and of course lots of points apply to all models ,So enjoy your new car and if you need help odds are you will find what you need on here and if not just ask easy as that good luck.

Hi Steve, do you know when it will arrive?
Hopefully soon but at least you will have time to get a page full of apps and sort a home charger plus smart meter😁

14-21 days! Almost wish I had more time to sort everything as with the current situation getting a smart meter etc seems like a chore! I can charge at work for 17p a kwh so going to stick to that till the prices come down or I can get on Octopus go. I get a home charger for free with the lease luckily!

17p at work is great, are there a few that use your work chargers or will one always be available for you to use and how do they bill you as I am trying to get something installed at my workplace

They installed six chargers in the carpark 6 months ago now. There are 900 people who work at the factory and I haven't seen any of them used once yet. They are BP pulse chargers. Not sure exactly how it is billed currently finding that out. It is good that they are there, just wish they were free! Haha!

Hi all. I'm not yet an owner of an EV but am test driving an MG ZS EV on Monday and if all goes well, hope to have a Long Range Trophy version soon. I currently drive an Alfa Romeo Stelvio and have been an avid Alifsti for many years... but they are too slow in moving into electrification so will have to move away for now. I will miss my Stevie but won't miss 27mpg!

Update... have ordered an MG5 LR for February delivery!

If they were free, the benefit would end up being taxed.

Evening all👍🏼 Names Vic. I am currently driving a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Love the car but not the 35 miles from a full charge 😭😭 so I have paid a deposit on a MZ EV should be arriving end of February/ March chose the Blue hope that it’s the same shade as in the brochure. Lots of questions to come hope that I don’t bore you as I like to know the answers to question. If I can’t finish the crossword I have to google them😂😂😂 also spend hours on YouTube

Hi all,
I'm a Zoe ZE40 owner at the moment, had the car just on 4 years from new, and have this week ordered an MG ZS EV Trophy in dynamic red. The Zoe was my first EV, and has been great, but I wanted a bit more range and space, and the face-lifted Trophy seems to fit the bill perfectly.

I just have to get used to all the new gadgets and EPB! 😄

Hi Eclectic,
Like you, My first EV was a Zoe and my reasons for changing were similar to yours. Six weeks in & just done 2000 miles on my MG5 I’m more than happy with the brand. As good as the Zoe’s are, the MG’s a big step up- enjoy! 👍
