I'm looking to order the new MG5 facelift but can't as yet see any details about it or pricing on the MG UK website. However, a dealer has said I can order it now - but he didn't seem to know very much at all about the new model and seemed to be just quoting the price of the current MG5 model from the website.

Is it possible to order the new facelift MG5 in the UK yet? And is pricing really the same as the current model?

Whilst 'it's coming' - the dealers can't tell you when current model vehicles will arrive, let alone an unannounced facelift model.

Speculation was Sept 22, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was more likely to be March 23 or later.

They'll certainly want to sell the vast majority of current gen vehicles that have been stuck in a car park in China awaiting chips before releasing a new one.

I can only think this is confusion over the standard range vs long range. There was some initial misinformation before the LR came out last year that there was some sort of face-lift associated with it, but to my knowledge apart from a slightly higher ride height, adjustable boot floor, higher rated roof rails and the MG pilot radar/ front cam there are no other changes from the SR. You would have thought a dealer would know all that though...!

Doesn't the LR (or is it the Exclusive LR?) Exclusive also get heated mirrors and seats, keyless doors and a few other bits? Just trying to remember things I've read on here...

Oh, and a longer range of course :)

If he will sell you a facelift model at today's prices I would bite his hand off!

The SR Exclusive has heated seats and mirrors, keyless doors etc too, Exclusive is the higher trim

If I remember correctly (doubtful), the main difference between the SR Excite and LR Excite (other than Pilot & adjustable boot floor) was the addition of an auto-dimming mirror (I think) and maybe the two extra USB ports in the rear (maybe).

Cloth vs 'leather' style interior. I'm still unable to find what they make the chair coverings out of.

Try a search on the forum. There’s been a picture recently of the houndstooth check ex plastic bottle material used by most manafacturers.
could be on MG. Website as well.

For what it's worth, we have been told the facelift will be available in France from mid-March (we do not get the current model at all), time will tell .....

I understood the UK variant will still require homologation for UK specs cos Brexit. Cheers then!

Ah yes, of course - another of the benefits of Brexit, the policy that keeps on giving.

At least you guys get the current model, if I'm honest, that would have suited our needs more than the ZS (as it's easier to get the dog in/out), but we have to wait for the refreshed version as they never imported the current 5 to France.

I really wish they gave an option of a 75kw battery, that would give you a WLTP range of most likely 300 miles or over and for me that would be a perfect car.
Along with rear interior lights, an app, led headlamps, fog lights, a low level windscreen fluid warning and no doubt others that I can't remember just now.

I think this is the explanation. The salesman I spoke to was fairly new. I asked another dealership and they made exactly the same mistake until I double checked with him exactly what he was quoting me for. Guess I will just have to wait and see when they really become available.
