Hi Guys have just joined the forum,
Today I test drove the mg5 and I thought it was great, just one question , does anyone know if you can turn off the vess, I asked the dealer and he didn’t know! Only it seemed to whine up to 30mph like an ice car with a doggy gearbox, the dealer said it was the vess, is he right!
 
Same here - Cant say i noticed it but the car i used for the test had literally just arrived in the dealers so not sure what had been set up or disabled by them.
 
VESS is a legal requirement (from the EU) but is turn-offable (nod to Nick Park, there) in all EVs, I think.
I made a video complaining about the irritation of it always being on by default and having to press the VESS button in my IONIQ every time I boot up.

Don’t know about you but I loved it,
It’s just a really useable family car, the range is fine, and I was really impressed with the interior, and the deal they offered me was unbeatable, when you think how much cheaper it is to its rivals it’s a no brainier !

Yes i loved it. Having tried both the ZS and the 5 one after the other there was a few things i liked in the ZS (Sunroof, Pilot etc) but over all the 5 impressed me the most. Placed an order on the day and took advantage of the 0% finance....now just a long wait until March/April(ish) for it to arrive.
 
Congratulations on your choice, I love my MG ZS EV..and the brand continues to go from strength to strength on value for money.
