Drove a demonstrator on 24th September and it was just what I have been waiting for; an electric estate car at a sensible price. I was a bit upset that some of the equipment I had expected to be present was not available, notably a sunroof and adaptive cruise control but still I went ahead and ordered an Exclusive model in Red and included a space saver spare wheel. The price seemed reasonable. I was quoted a delivery by the end of the year. On 2nd October I was contacted and informed that MG were offering a discount, already you might say, but the next day I had a new vehicle order with the price reduced by ..... a lot. In the following weeks I researched a lot more and found the same company were offering even more discount at another of their branches. When the sales person contacted me again I mentioned this and got another reduction in price to ..... some more. This more than made up for the disappointment of the reduced equipment levels. I'm now waiting eagerly for the phone call to say I can pick it up.

Current update on the car ordered on 24th September. Still patiently waiting.
I'm being told it will be at the dealers depot about Christmas Day, just before or just after so following preparation that will be the first week in January.
I'm told it has to be registered in 2020, otherwise the price will be £3000 or so more, like I believe that, more likely something to do with sales targets for the month or year.
I've added locking wheel nuts as the car will be permanently parked on the drive and also added the protection kit. A word of warning they want £60 to fit 4 mudflaps!
I will update here again when the big day arrives.

Hi if I was you I would have a good read about the MG5 exclusive model on this forum with regard to a problem with the roof rails which is looking very much like what could be a safety issue a few people have already cancelled the order for the cars and as for me my car is at the dealers but I have refused to take delivery of it until the dealer tells me what MG are going to do about the problem so I suggest you I a good read first on the site and then speak to you dealer also watch the podcasts on YouTube

Well done Les, perhaps they may read some of the other comments too about other service issues if they do bother to have a look...

Re; registered 2020 and the £3000.
I ordered my MG5 in October for delivery & registration in March 2021, fixed price. Got a great discount and if the RRP price should reduce (unlikely) my price reduces by the same amount.

Sounds like they are trying it on first with discount and now with pushing you to register 2020 if you don't want to. I think your correct its end of qrt/year sales figures.

Sounds like the old double glazing sales pitch to me. I would go elsewhere.
