We bought our ZS EV Exclusive from Unity is March.

Our initial sales call-back was not returned, but that was right at the start of Lockdown. A later call to arrange a test-drive was booked for the next day.
The test drive was informative, with explanations about the features of both the Excite and Exclusive models. We bought it that day.
There were no freebies thrown in, but that's nice to get, not expected. We bought the type-2 cable at the same time as the car, along with the MG mats pack.

The collection was a week later, with no problems. The mat for the boot had not turned up (stock backlog), but that was collected a month later, and the mudguards had been fitted ready for collection.

We had booked in to get the Comfort-2 update applied, with a £65 installation fee. It is not a warranty fix, so a fee was expected, and this was in the middle of the costs we had heard about other places charging. The installation failed (service connectivity issues), and a revisit was arranged a few weeks later. We are not far from them, and have 2 cars, so this wasn't a problem. The fee was adjusted for the inconvenience of the failed install.

We are due to book in for a service in a couple of months, and will probably take it to Unity to get done. We'll compare the prices with some other MG dealers first, but the service we have had so far means we'll most likely end up back at Unity.

I contacted a couple of dealers during the lockdown. Unity sent me a short video which I found rather personable. As restrictions eased I took a test drive (with another closer dealer) but went to Unity because (a) their service was recommended by a guy I was chatting to in the street and (b) they had a second hand ZS on the forecourt (c) I liked the small dealer feeling. They gave me a good PX value on my Renault Captur and in the deal I got mud flaps, mats & boot liner plus a mobile charging cable. The salesman made a mistake on the finance quote so I got my own finance at a lower APR - this was genuine error so was not a major problem for me. I collected the car on Dec 30 - serviced, cleaned, ready to go including all the latest software.

I am happy that the recommendation from a ZS owner lead me to Unity and would not hesitate to do recommend them.

I tried out Unity after Bishop and Bishop folded last year.

Comfort 2 update failed on a Friday, however I was able to keep the loan car overnight and they succeeded the next day, so good for perseverance. They didn't actually tell me on that Friday, despite a few calls for updates, until I turned up at the end of the day to collect.

First service (no service plan) seemed over the odds at £156. Others on the Facebook group confirm that they were charged less and in one case, a customer like me without a plan or having bought the car from Unity, was charged the same then got reduced by £30 to a more reasonable fee. I tried the same soon after servicing but was told it was correct.

I have had the car back with Unity for a warranty repair to the door latch and fix the BMS software (balance issue). It‘s been years since I had a new car and I didn’t think to ask for a courtesy car so it cost me £40 in travel costs. Car was cleaned inside and out on collection so happy with that but battery was not charged so I had to drive home on eco mode in sub zero temperature and sit behind an artic on the M1.

Like everyone else on here, I have to keep popping in,( think I may get an invite to the Xmas party, I’m in there that often) to see if there is any news on my car yet, always to be told, they’ll ring me when they know..a mates wife, who is getting iq5 or whatever it is, gets a weekly update, only if it’s telling her, they have no news on her car yet, I do think customer service of MG is quite poor..

I have the same issue with a dealer in Milton Keynes however I think that MG parent Company build to stock and not specific orders as a result they don't receive their allocation until the cars arrive in the UK.

Unity are now servicing at both the Airport Business Park, Coventry, their second site and formally a sales-only site. Balsall Common is still operating. Having an OG ZS EV, I have had my fourth service now. I think the BC has improved with new staff. They fixed the common rear screen wash issue and have ordered up a replacement front badge because the LED "on charge" breathing light has failed. The second service is coolant and brake fluid in effect. There's still a insurance fee to hire a car of £25. All in £230 so not bad and that's an annual AA membership too. To counter, for another year running, they may have again forgotten the SA020 update.

Had an email from them yesterday, to tell me my car needs a service, only £144.67 and a free wash and vac..so I asked what I get for the £144.67 to be told, they look over the car? And do any updates if needed..so as far as I see it..nothing, but taking my £144.67, I’m sure I can get it wash and vacuum for less than £144, I can have a look around it, looks fine to me, I can do with out any updates, as I haven’t missed them so far, AA, could stick it on the RAC along with the Porsche (paying £7pm for that) think it’s a big rip-off..there must be other places that will do it cheaper than £144.67..I know I need it done for the 7 year warranty..but come on £144.67..for doing not a bloody lot..

Went to BC site, very nice service and being where it is a courtesy car needed. Will see if the issue is resolvedl but no complaints atall. Well driving a Ssanyong for just over a day, not a vehicle I liked compared to my 4 but that’s me at least I had transport 😅
