I went out to the car the other night and noticed that there is no tell tale light for the car alarm? Has anyone else got a light?

You can buy a small battery powered red LED off eBay for a few quid.......I got several scattered about our house to supplement the proper ones. I'm a big believer in deterrents.

Its not ridiculous as every new car has an alarm today and everyone knows it. The indicators were relevant years ago when no one knew if a given car was alarmed or not...
Could be handy for someone who likes to look out their window to see if the car is locked or the alarm is armed.

I know the mirrors folded are a good indication the car is locked but a bit of visual identification in the dark might not go amiss.

The Excite model doesn't have the folding mirrors so a visual aid would be the only indication that the alarm is set, other than physically yanking the door handle.
