Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for the best/easy to fit bike carriers for up to 4 bikes? I had intended to get a tow-bar mounted rack but our Dealer has said this isn't possible. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks

I was told by my dealer that they can get one fitted but they quoted £600 and change but they can;t get the part (comes from Holland I believe). Interestingly PF Jones Towbars also list a towbar for the Zs but again no stock and they have no idea when they will get them. P.J had them @ £428 fitted with a 7 pin connector for a lighting board.

I decided to got for Thule roof mounting which is good. So far I've only had two bikes but I think i can fit 4 when required.

No photos with my bike carriers yet, but I've fit 4 X Thule 591 bike carriers on these bars on other cars.

I’ve gone ahead and bought a Saris Bones rack for 3 bikes which looks good on the ZS after a test fit.

i now need to know how to disable or remove the rear wiper arm to prevent damage to the wiper when the rack is in use, as the upper feet rest on the rear screen within the swept area.

Best suggestion I’ve had so far (offline) is to remove the fuse when the rack is in use. Any other ideas that might be more user friendly?
I also wonder if rear light vis’ will be an issue. Any tips on trailer board electrics?

Will post a pic once it is on and loaded,

In Denmark we can get a "towbar" fitted at the MG dealership to use for bikes. We have a Thule 970 that is very easy to use for 2 bikes.

Hi, I'd really like to know how you fared with the Saris. Does it work? Any issues? I really hope it was a success as I'm despairing of finding a solution.Cheers.

I have one of these for my ZS EV. It's a rear mounted rack which we use for our two e-bikes. They might do a 4 bike version as well?
Reason we got it was because it can fit both of our cars (due to differences in roof racks, we would need two sets of feet for the roof mounted systems), and I don't have to lift them up so high - they are heavy!
It doesn't interfere with the rear wiper or anything, and has traveled about 1500 miles on our other car without issue.

Just be glad you didn’t buy the MG5 EV as not only is it not approved for fitting a tow bar, the roof rails are purely decorative and not approved for carrying any load!

Thank you for this info. I will have to see if these are available in Australia. You say you have used it for 1500 miles on your other car but have you road tested it with the MG EV? I'm hesitant to order something, particularly if it has to be imported, without absolute positive confirmation that it will fit.

We've done about 150 miles or so with it on the MG - been in lockdown so not been able to make use of it!
It definitely fits our car though.

Is it possible to post a photo on zs if you have one or next time you set it up would really appreciate that as myself and others this would be really healpfull

I have a picture of it on my Outlander if that helps?
I can get a pic next time I put it up - obviously can't at the moment due to lockdown!

Look forward to seeing it as when I contacted none of there modules would work on car other than on roof.
And did not want to try putting a 22 kg e bike on roof as value my health
