Possible update for the car audio system?

I saw this over on the book of face and haven't had a chance to test it myself as of yet so proceed with extreme caution if you do update your audio system yourself. The screenshots suggest that the filename is older, but the actual update file has a newer date than what is on my car. No idea what changes are implemented either until I get around to looking at it myself.

I saw that and downloaded the files. In the .pdf it says extract the files and copy the update file to a USB, but it's not clear whether that means just the update file alone in the update.zip folder after extracting that as well or the folder itself and what are all the other files for ?
A bit too vague for me to chance it.

All of the files in the 01_SW folder need to be placed on the USB drive, no folders.

There's an "update" folder and a "update.zip" folder in that "01-SW" folder.

As far as I know, this is all you should see on the USB drive.

I think I may have unzipped the update.zip folder.

I think these files could be older than my current version so I'm not going to chance it.

I think the only way to understand if this is an older version would be for someone to take a photo of their software version before and then after the update and compare them. @CogZog has anyone on the facebook page you referred to done this?

No, nobody has done this as far as I know so I would be extremely wary about doing it myself now! Am I brave enough (or stupid?!) to try?

Hmmm, this is the sort of thing I like to do, but given the problems I had updating the maps where my satnav would not function after the update, and now Naviextras not providing any support at all, I'm going to stay a country mile away from this! What does it actually change/update?
