I have faced Android auto connectivity issue in my MH EHS multiple times. At first it was randomly used to get disconnected while using indicators or selecting AC menu or any other features. But other day when I was on long drive it got disconnected several times. But after plugout & plugin it again starts working as normal. So I believe issue is not with the car usb port.

I thought it might be issue with cable so changed couple of cables. Even tries on 3 different mobile handsets. But same issue. Not sure if am missing something here.

Do I have to upgrade any software or need to show it to showroom for diagnosing the issue?

Android auto needs high quality USB cable to work. Don't use cheat cable from a charger.
Thanks for reply Lars.
I am not sure how to identify the cable is wheather its high quality or not. Can you guide more on it. Thanks in advance.

Just a thought I had exactly the same trouble but with an EPace and the problem was the gel phone case impeding the connection removed it whilst in the car and hey presto worked perfectly

I'm having the same problem, my car is booked into dealer next Friday for repair
Please do let us know if that solves the issue and if possible ask how they fix it. This may help me to guide my dealer/service team to solve mine. Thanks in advance.

1 - ours stopped working off the cable but after an Android Auto update, all was good.

2 - Blue tooth is for sound, so won’t work for a phone sat nav eg Google.

I would try Wireless android devices.. I had many dropouts when I used wired android auto with Outlander. With HS, I am using wireless CarPlay with Carlinkit 2

You could try AAWireless from Indiegogo (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/aawireless#/ - not an affiliate link). I've just installed one in my MG HS PHEV today and once I'd got it connected it works seamlessly. Bit pricey at about £85 inc. shipping but it gets round the cable issue. The other benefit is I can keep my phone in my pocket as so many times when it was plugged in I would forget it.

I received my AAWireless from indiegogo a few days ago, I have my music on a micro USB that sits in the middle between the data USB and the 12v. I have just received a short USB cable with a 90degree cable lead so hope to be able to install under the flap and have the flap shut down.
At the moment it is heavy rain so will have a trial when it stops.

Got a brolly so had a go.
As you can see from the photo below the AAWireless fits with room to spare in the console cubby and the flap shuts without a problem. The cable I used was from Amazon:

After I switched the car off the led in the 12v USB, the led in the Music USB and the led in the AAWireless remained on for about 2mins then all went out so it seems these 3 are not live unless car is running so should not drain the 12v battery.

Update. Used this a few times recently, on my phone I need to switch Mobile Data on then the AAWireless starts up as soon as I enter the car, it takes a few seconds to connect then I can just say Hey Google take me to..........
And off we go.......

Good day!
I have ordered AAWireless and the exact same cable (trough Amazon NL). Not received the AAW yet.
I am curious if here are special things I will have to do to make it all work.
FYI: I normally have mobile data allways enabled on my phone.
