Off peak charging

Prices are fixed until 2023 on the EDF deal I am on.
The regulating body has said this morning, that they are switching there reviewing time from every 6 months to every 3 months.
That indicates energy price increases are more likely 🥲
I think it is just a proposal at the moment to review every three months.

I have solar, 2 EV’s and on the Octopus Go tariff, currently 5p off peak and 16p peak but due to end and go up in price come August. I am in the process of applying for grants/cash back for battery storage and air source heat pump. There is £7.5k cash back in Scotland for the latter and 0% loans available. If all goes to plan I will be removing gas from my house completely and only using off peak and solar to provide energy to my house. I will need to revisit what deals are available come time jobs are done.

We are so far behind the times here in wales with regards to Loans and grants for renewables!

Just saving up enough for the battery system whilst getting some quotes - but a 10 year interest free loan would enable us to go bigger with the system! And it would allow others less fortunate than ourselves to get a system!

ASHP is possibly what we’re looking at as our boiler is literally on the brink - not sure it’ll survive another winter! Although I’m intrigued by infrared panels too! :)

Can't believe no one is offering off peak charging deals at the minute. I know electric price tariffs are still going to change but surely someone must be doing off peak electric?
Hi. I am with octopus and they just offered me off peak 00.30 to 04.30 at 7p per kwh. But I have solar panels and sell back to the grid and you cannot have both export and off peak.

Do you sell back to Octopus?
I can't see how that is as you won't export during the 7.5p period.

Scottish Power offer 11:30 pm until 6:30 am night rate. 15p per KW

Not sure if this is equal to Octopus rates?

The 3 monthly reviews will allow the "cap rate" to be increased every 3 months, but also to be lowered when global energy costs start to fall.

Octopus Go is 7.5p 00:30-04:30
Octopus intelligent is 7.5p 11:30-05:30
Octopus go faster is 4 hours (maybe 5) at different periods during the night depending on which you choose - starting at 9:30 for 8.25p

OVO do economy 7 tariff - variable rates - at the moment half the price of their fixed rate offerings and no exit fee. "Simple Energy Economy 7" day 30.71p/kWh off peak 19.56p/kWh. Standing charge 36.19p/day.

That’s unfortunate, I get maximum rate FIT despite the fact that I use virtually all of my solar generation. I also have a Myenergi Eddi to divert energy to my hot water tank so nearly all surplus is used.
